Settling for a partner Article in comments |

I see so many posts about searching and not being able to find the right partner or folks jumping into a dynamic after 2-3 days of chatting. Sometimes it seems like there is no one compatible for each of us, that the search is useless. Some people want to give up, some people jump at the chance with a partner when it comes along, even though it is a poor match, just to have that feeling of submitting or dominating. In my opinion, giving up would have been giving up on how I wanted to live my life and would have felt like a personal failure, but everyone is different with that choice. Jumping into a relationship with a less than good match is just asking for sadness and disappointment for one or both the partners and then you are back at the search grind… maybe missing your chance at the perfect match in the meantime. So many times when you least expect it, a match comes along, sometimes we try too hard to find someone, or try so hard to find the perfect partner, or perfect traits, we miss what would really make us happy in a partner. I know it’s hard to sift through the pretenders, the predators and the scammers. Searching takes plenty of patience and resolve. Those who give up will never find the dream possibly. While some that persevere will never find the dream also, they at least did all they could to make the dream happen. © 5/15/23 Ronald Dirienzo
