Something most everyone in the lifestyle wants is stability.
A stable dynamic, a stable relationship. Something long term.
Some have the problem of not being adaptable, being too rigid in wanting their ideal.
Others are too flexible. Jumping into dynamics and relationships and hoping for the best.
Still others are impatient and dive head first as soon as they can with whoever will accept them.
And others take what they can get and hope to “fix” the dynamic as time goes on.
And lastly you have those that wait and wait but are not fortunate enough to find a partner.
In my view, stability takes patience. It takes work, it takes adaptability.
You won’t find stability jumping from partner to partner hoping one sticks.
The odds are long if you expect to find the exact ideal you dream of and accept nothing else.
The odds are longer for those who latch on to someone in desperation and hope to “make it work”.
Knowledge of the lifestyle and what it includes is a big part of finding something stable. Knowledge helps you better weed through prospective partners and also helps you grow in the dynamic.
Since everyone evolves, adaptability is just as important later in the relationship as it is in the initial stages and negotiations.
Some folks enjoy and are very happy with a revolving door of partners. They like the changes it brings, the newness each time they start over.
But stability brings you a partner that you can rely on. Someone you can build a deeper trust with. Someone you can learn inside out and explore and expand the dynamic much easier with because of the intimate trust and knowledge you have as stable partners.
Some people will say stability isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. That it can get boring and the partners can fall into a rut.
But that’s only if the partners allow that. If they maintain their imagination and their desire to evolve and adapt, stable partners can soar to new heights year after year together and find long term happiness.
