Learn from mistakes

Everyone makes mistakes, yes, even Dominants.
It’s what we do about those mistakes that matters.
First and foremost, an apology is usually in order if that mistake has affected another, whether that other is a Dominant or a submissive.
YES, a Dominant can apologize to a submissive. A Dominant that tries to BS their way through a mistake without apology, or worse tries to blame the submissive in some way, is a poor excuse for a Dominant and the submissive should get out of the dynamic fast.
Likewise, if the Dominant makes the same mistake over and over, apology or not, the submissive should look to get out of the dynamic. The Dominant isn’t learning from the mistake OR, is purposely making the “mistake” for whatever reason they may have. Either way, it’s a bad sign.
When it comes to a submissive that makes the same mistake over and over, it can be a bit of a conundrum. Is the submissive a poor learner or is the Dominant a poor teacher. Or is the submissive a brat and doing it on purpose. What to do about the situation depends on the answer, and it’s not always an easy answer to obtain.
Some of the hardest lessons to learn come after a break up.
What went wrong? How can you not let it happen again? Better vetting? More knowledge? Did the relationship just run its course?
It can be so easy to just throw in the towel and not try again.
But life isn’t easy and it’s full of disappointments, let downs and misery. It’s what we do with the knowledge we gain from these happenings that define who we are and better enable us to improve the results the next time around.
Mistakes learned from is how we improve, because no one is perfect. We all make mistakes.
Admitting the mistake, and learning from it is what keeps us climbing rather than stagnating or falling further.

Rondiri,

Always instructive, your choices and contributions. Text content, supported with logic and common sense (but learning from mistakes....easier said than done of course! ).... is always useful to highlight the importance of mistakes, apology and correction afterwards.

Greetz,
Dom J.
