Learning about everything that goes into our Lifestyle is extremely important. To jump in without the proper knowledge is asking to get harmed, no matter what movies and novels you have read.
The teaching part can get tricky from a learners point of view.
There are many that try to teach. Impart their knowledge and experience to those that seek it.
The tricky part is knowing who to trust with the teaching.
Do they really know what they are talking about? Maybe just as importantly, WHO taught the teacher? And who taught their teacher? Throughout history, oral teachings have gotten warped over time as it is passed from one person to another, even if it started with a perfect rendition.
Someone along the line, changes this because they have a different preference, another person changes that by mistake or misinterpretation, still another changes something because of a bias against the original teaching.
Learning is too important to just take for granted that the person teaching you is correct with all they say and show. That kind of learning is for school children in a classroom with curriculums handed down by a school system. Even then Teachers had/have a way of bending curriculums.
I will always say, verify everything you hear with other parties. Don’t settle for one, two or even three points of view. Get the information from sources not connected to one another.
It doesn’t make sense to ask a teacher’s teacher the same questions, chances are you will get the same answer.
Varied sources will give you a better idea of what is commonly used as the correct answer. Look for those outlier answers and question them deeper.
There are a lot of varying opinions out there. Some common sense, some outlandish, some outright dangerous to your safety, health and wellbeing.
Your safety is of paramount importance. Take the time to learn. Don’t put your trust in a teacher that hasn’t earned that trust over extended time.
The more you know, the safer you can be.
