Wide-eyed

This condition in the BDSM Lifestyle can be both good and bad.
The bad is when someone, either Dominant or submissive, gets wide-eyed about a prospective partner, or a proposal to try something new, and rushes into something they are not prepared for and have not done due diligence about. Although the person’s eyes may be wide open more than normal, they are not seeing clearly and acting on emotion instead of good sense. This is usually referred to as subfrenzy or Domfrenzy.
A good case of being wide-eyed is when a submissive’s, or a Dominant’s, eyes go wide with wonder and awe as the partners enjoy a scene together. The pleasure overwhelming their senses. Or a new toy is introduced, research is done and the awe of trying it out that first time takes over. Cherishing the reactions of your partner.
The metaphorical “wide-eyed” is when you are vetting or researching. The act of being alert and sponge like as you absorb all there is to know about a person, kink or item so that you can make an informed decision about the safety, sanity, compatibility and the realistic chance of partnering with the person or using the kink or item.
Don’t let emotions be the sole reason for your decisions. Be alert and informed with eyes wide open to all possibilities, rather than having your eyes “wide shut”.
