Like anything else we do in life, a BDSM dynamic takes effort to be successful. Right from the start with trying to meet someone, wading through the scammers and fakes, takes a great deal of effort. Once you find a decent prospective partner, vetting then takes great effort to be thorough, to take the time to learn about the person. Negotiating what the dynamic will entail can’t be a time of relaxation. It takes effort to properly negotiate and forge the foundation of the dynamic. Once in the dynamic, there is no time to relax your effort. You can’t have a successful dynamic by coasting on your laurels and giving anything but your best effort to your partner. Anyone who would accept less than your best effort, probably isn’t giving you their best effort and you will both be disappointed. To get someone’s best effort, you first have to give your own best effort. Otherwise it can start feeling like you find your partner just a sideline, and not a priority.
