One of the most difficult things to do in the BDSM Lifestyle, especially for novices, is to verify what we are told by potential partners. It’s great when you can ask other members of the community about a potential partner. But not everyone knows someone else in the Community or have others near them. There is no background check system in our Community. We are left to our own devices to find out whatever information we need. This is why being knowledgeable and asking questions, a LOT of questions is so important when vetting a potential partner. We need to verify answers against what we know and have learned. Even then is can be a crap shoot, since fakes can “learn” the proper answers, but have no real experience. Submissives, especially, can get duped when they feel it is “not their place” to ask questions of a Dominant. Vetting is imperative for BOTH potential partners. Submissives hae just as much right to ask serious, deep questions as the Dominant in order to verify information. If a potential partner refuses to give information or is vague about information it is a big red flag. Remember, honesty is one of the four pillars of BDSM. If a potential partner can’t be open and honest during vetting, don’t expect them to be honest in a dynamic. © 4/3/24 Ronald Dirienzo
