In a Lifestyle filled with elements of risk that need to be taken into consideration before participating, caution is a good thing. Being cautious should start as soon as you meet a potential partner. During negotiation, being cautious about coercion and manipulation is a must. Before scene play, being cautious about what will happen, what will be used and who is doing what can save you from harm. Not being cautious in what we do in our lifestyle is like crossing a busy street without looking both way, trusting the drivers to stop just because you are walking across blindly. It’s a basic safety measure that many have come to ignore out of haste, desire or desperation. If we can’t be concerned for our own safety, we leave ourselves open to those that do not care about our safety. © 4/6/24 Ronald Dirienzo
