Seemed easy at first

During the time I served my first owner it became more and more popular for people to attempt claiming their own pets. For the most part people would find themselves… whatever modern day “pets” were available. But on a few occasions someone would foolishly attempt to claim a pet like me when they stumbled across us. Creatures like me need to be claimed directly if we are unowned. An easy way to tell if your looking at someone like me is by checking our collars, which are normally welded around our necks. If the collar has a nametag, dont touch that person. When we have nametags attached to our collars that is our fair warning that you shouldn’t try to catch us. An owned creature will kill you if you attempt to get between them and their owner. if you see one of us without a nametag then we are fair game. it doesnt take any special tricks or teats to catch us, you can almost always just walk up and grab our collars. In my experience most people will let me go when i just stand motionless and stare at whoever grabbed me. Now It is understandable to get cold feet and let go the the collar when someone is just staring daggers into your soul. Dont let go, if you actually intend to claim the pet your holding, do not let go of that collar until the creature in question submits. If you do let go dont go back and try again later. we normally only give people one chance. if you prove yourself to be a coward we will never accept you. we prefer to be left alone, or we are commonly close to or at the feet of our owner, if the creature in question has no collar at all, dont even approach them. the ones with no collar earned their freedome.
