The Truth A quote I came across tonight: If you tell the truth, you don’t have to remember anything. – Mark Twain. Another one I came across is: Hard truths can be dealt with, triumphed over, but lies will destroy your soul. – Patricia Briggs. Also brings to mind. the words I heard when I was a : a liar is worse than a thief because what a thief steals can never be replaced--another person's trust. My final thought: If you lie, you had better remember who you told what lie to or things can get real messy, real fast. I'm just saying. |

The Twain quote is good. You might want to edit the typo in the childhood quote.

yes, what a person does is their truth, what they say is often what they wish was true at the time

What a thief steals can never be replaced--another person's trust. Maybe it's just me, but I believe you meant to say liar instead of thief? Lies come in all shapes and sizes and degrees, etc. Some can be fairly harmless, such as a response to "Do these pants make my ass look big?" Does a itty bitty lie such as responding "No" mean the person is a liar never to be trusted again? I'm not so sure...... Like so many things in life, it's a matter of context, context and more context. The more severe and significant the lie, given the context, the more and more trust slips away .... That's my take, in any event. Make Women Female Again

sophie This is so true! It is VERY hard to be a good liar!! A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing. George Bernard Shaw Jenny
