The Bridge That Led Me To Him..........................  I have come upon many bridges in my life Making the decision to cross over them Or...remain where I was Sometimes the bridge appeared to be sturdy strong enough to carry me Finding as I crossed It's foundation questionable Leaving me fearful I may fall to what lay beneath me Sometimes the beauty was deceiving Calling me to the other side And yet a small still voice inside trying to warn me but I, not heeding the warnings of my soul The warnings of the spirit who resides in me For all the times I came to the bridges of my life Sometimes the beauty beneath them above them and beyond the other side led me across to a new path A path filled with all my dreams All my hopes and a new and different journey. I'm so glad that when I came to the bridge where He... my love waited on the other side I was able to believe in the sturdiness he laid for me The foundation he secured Allowing me to cross over with complete abandon Complete trust Into his waiting arms. Sometimes one can get stuck in one's memories of the past, or even in one's cul-de- sac fantasies that linger forever on the vine. One must make the stuff of NEW memories or, as the case may be, pluck those fantasies off the vine, and push them onto the open straightaway toward realization. Yes, I know, Debra, these accomplishments can be easier said than done, but try one must to channel fresh moving water into and out of an otherwise stagtnant pond. Time waits for no one. Please forgive all the mixed metaphors--I was in a hurry. LOL..
