Final Chapter of the Dean

A week later, I was at graduation ceremonies giving a speech about how great the graduates were. It was difficult as the dean and Dr N were there smiling at me the whole time. I tried to just focus on my speech but it was difficult. The best part of the ceremony was when I presented Aliza with her doctoral sash. She kissed my cheek and said "I love you so much Linda. Thank you for everything."
The semester is now over. My department head Dr N. was found guilty by the review board of misappropriating university funds and was quietly fired or let go as the dean told me. Not wanting to get his ass fired over the scandal , the dean took a new position at a college in Alabama.
Aliza got an assistant<b> professor </font></b>position at an excellent university in California. She said that she will text and call often but I know that we will lose touch with each other over time.
I was promoted to department head and will make sure every penny is documented.
My new dean is very sweet. She came from UVA . I love her accent and the way she carries herself.
Last Saturday night, she invited me to her apartment. We had a few glasses of wine and talked about teaching, our families and our funny stories when growing up.
Out of the clear blue she asked.

I hope you enjoyed my Dean blog. As you know all of my stories have an element of truth in them . I do embellish and exaggerate a little of course but isn't that what they do in movies when they say it's based on a true story.
