"Ghost" messages I have seen an increase in these. I get an alert saying that I have a new message - the little mailbox confirms this - but there is no message to be found. I go to the account where Alt sends notifications and there is a notice that I have<b> received </font></b>a message. I go back to my mailbox and search and - nothing. Then I have to write to the person and say "Hi, I got a notice that you sent me a message (attached below) but I can't find it. Please resend." (I do this because basic courtesy and civility require me to do so. Sometimes I get a reply; usually there is no reply. I have reported this to Alt and all I back is "We have not been able to duplicate the problem." Groan. Has this happened to others? How do you handle it? 9/11/23 -- Noticed others on Alt are reporting this - maybe it will persuade the Alt tech stuff to find the cause and fix it. |
