What is a testimonial ?

 Usually when someone wants to say nice things about you - a bit like a personal statement from someone who's gotten to know you well. Kind of helps to prove to others that you're probably real / genuine.

If you've received one, it appears on your profile page after you've approved it.

 I think free users can't make a testimonial, you have to be a paying member
