Thank you Yern. This is actually a moth. I had to do some internet sleuthing to figure out what it was because I'd never seen anything like it before. It's called a hummingbird moth--more specifically a White-lined Sphinx.

Yes, it's peaceful. I love listening to the sounds of nature on this walk. The flowing water, the wind in the trees and all the birds singing and chirping. I have a bird sound identifier app on my phone that recognized 12 different birds in this area. Pretty cool.
