Avoid the ones that immediately want to make you one of their "herd" of cattle or
want you to sign up on their sites.....not good....

 A few more things, on line role play has some value, but not much. Treat it like entertainment. On line relationships are fun, like Erotic Stories you might read, But generally, they are not like real life, face to face situation. You can learn some stuff, but I would avoid the notion that one line situations are mostly fantasy. Fun, but not realistic in application to real interactions.

Those who demand you do or act in a proscribed man from the get go are full of bovine excrement. If they don't treat you with respect on line, they surely are not going to do so in real life.

Those that want to talk sexual or BDSM stuff right off are gonna treat you like a piece of meat. You want to et to know various aspect of their day to day personality before getting involved in discussion about kink and sex. How they treat others in normal day to day life will tell you much about more intimate interaction.

 I think first one had good advice look at some groups and see what sort of things you would be into exploring. If you don't know if your dom or sub then you most likely more leaning towards switch. Some on here want people strictly dom or sub and sometimes it's not as black and white as that
