Was confused...

i have been married for almost 14 years now, and I have always said my husband and I are in an open marriage. Over the past week, I have been reading and doing more search on the difference between an open marriage and polyamorous.
Many many things I have read said the main difference is one is sex based and the other just different partner while my husband and I are the primary permanent couple.
I am not in it for more of the sex (intercourse) part, just different dynamics that i want with different people. Once I talked that out with my husband that's how we both have been looking at it from the beginning. I'm definitely not looking for many sexual (intercourse) partners, just different dynamics....Daddy/lg,Owner/pet,Mistress/ submissive, etc. i feel silly knowing all these years I've been saying open marriage and for some that probably sounded like i was just looking for sexual partners.

You do have an open marriage...

But it sounds like you want committed relationships of some form..which would be poly

Knowing what you want is really important. This will help you find the partner(s) and dynamics that are of most interest. Good luck.

That is the best definition of polyamorous which reflects a penchant for human growth.
