Poetry in motion Day 6 of 30

April is national poetry month and while I do follow along with my local library's daily selection, this year instead of writing my own poetry or sharing a classic of another, I am sharing songs, well lyrics of songs, that I consider pure poetry. Poetry in motion as it were.

**POST IN COMMENTS DUE TO POOR SITE FEATURE MAINTENANCE**

Sometimes I make a move, sorry to leave my home, but hope I will find another of equal character.
At night I gaze at the starry mass with no idea to which one the earth attached.
May'be that cute little one over there or that one that sits alone in the inky black

We all have them don't we? Those poems as songs that roll over you like a tidal wave, making you close your eyes, open your ears, throw your head back and tune out the world as the tune itself drowns you in feeling!

It can be sweet or sad, moving or numbing, quiet and gently stirring or fierce and loud.

You're my piece of mind,
in this crazy world.
You're everything I've tried to find,
your love is a pearl.

You're my Mona Lisa, you're my rainbow skies,
and my only prayer, is that you realize,
you'll always be beautiful, in my eyes.

The world will turn,
and the seasons will change.
And all the lessons we will learn,
will be beautiful and strange.

We'll have our fill of tears, our share of sighs.
My only prayer, is that you realize.
You'll always be beautiful, in my eyes.

You will always be, beautiful in my eyes.
And the passing years will show,
that you will always grow,
evermore beautiful, in my eyes.

When there are lines upon my face,
from a lifetime of smiles.
And when the time comes to embrace.
for one long last while.

We can laugh about, how time really flies.
We won't say goodbye, 'cause true-love never dies.
You'll always be beautiful, in my eyes.

You will always be, beautiful in my eyes.
And the passing years will show,
that you will always grow,
evermore beautiful, in my eyes.
The passing years will show,
that you will always grow,
evermore beautiful, in my eyes.

Joshua Kadison- 'Beautiful In My Eyes'

If you've been swept away by a poem, whether or not put to music and can help sweep me away, please join in and share your ocean of emotion/poetry in motion as well. Thank you so much all who have offered suggestions & shared their selections, it is greatly appreciated.

You and Me Against the World
Helen Reddy

You and me against the world,
Sometimes it seems like you and me against the world,
When all the others turn their backs and walked away,
You can count on me to stay.

Remember when the circus came to town
How you were frightened by the clown,
Wasn't it nice to be around someone that you knew,
Someone who was big and strong and looking out for
You and me against the world,

Sometimes it seems like you and me against the world
And for all the times we've cried I always felt that
God was on our side.
And when one of us is gone,
And one of us is left to carry on,
Then remembering will have to do,
Our memories alone will get us through
Think about the days of me and you,
Of you and me against the world.

Pretty apropos for today......

That is a GREAT song

Some of the most poetic writings in existence are not poems and this is a beautiful and touching example. I only knew of it from the movie Saving Pvt Ryan and thought at the time, "that's damn sad that this isn't commonly known."

Thank you for sharing words that move you, even if it is heavy on the sentiment( you'll survive I promise). I know it moves me every time

Would you be surprised to know that I changed this days song after I logged in last night? It was scheduled to be Dire Straits' 'brothers in arms' but I decided to move it to later in the week at the very last minute.

Thank you, Jenny. Im glad you like it. To me, it really is. I fell in love with it the very first time I heard it. Its one of those songs where the lyrics and music are equally moving.

I always eat my lunch alone in my car.

I must excuse myself from the jury on the grounds that I dont know who the hell Cook is or even what the damn charge is.

That being said, if hes a cook he probably sautees mushrooms so my bias against slimey food prompts me to negate my moral obligation to recuse myself AND to immediately issue a guilty verdict.
I will also recommend sentencing of 10 years on a chain gang cultivating mushroom spores in burnt out regions to exacerbate decomposition of acidic char and stimulate new growth with the first year spent developing a proper fecal growth formula.

I'll agree that true love never dies.

Howling at the moon and mal ad osteo.

Me too, hon. I feel love itself is far bigger and more far reaching than any thing known to man. Its breadth encompassing all time and space, its depth immeasurable.

I did (and do) indeed listen to the songs people post. I never know when I'm going to learn a new beloved favorite.

I'm hanging in there just like you are, hon.
