Poetry in motion Day 10 of 30

April is national poetry month and while I do follow along with my local library's daily selection, this year instead of writing my own poetry or sharing a classic of another, I am sharing songs, well lyrics of songs, that I consider pure poetry. Poetry in motion as it were.

**POST IN COMMENTS DUE POOR SITE FEATURE MAINTENANCE**

Sometimes I make a move, sorry to leave my home, but hope I will find another of equal character.
At night I gaze at the starry mass with no idea to which one the earth attached.
May'be that cute little one over there or that one that sits alone in the inky black

We all have them don't we? Those poems as songs that roll over you like a tidal wave, making you close your eyes, open your ears, throw your head back and tune out the world as the tune itself drowns you in feeling!

They can be sweet or sad, moving or numbing, quiet and gently stirring or fierce and loud. They can say nothing or everything, support or reject a belief, celebrate a life. Or a death.
Apologies in advance to non christian friends and readers but for me, a woefully inadequate and mostly non practicing cradle catholic, it's Good Friday, one of the few christian remembrance days I do keep.
Millennia have passed and still the battle of human self service and destruction rages on.

These mist covered mountains
Are a home now for me
But my home is the lowlands
And always will be.
Some day you'll return to
Your valleys and your farms
And you'll no longer burn
To be brothers in arms

Through these fields of destruction
Baptisms of fire
I've witnessed your suffering
As the battle raged high
And though they did hurt me so bad
In the fear and alarm
You did not desert me
My brothers in arms

There's so many different worlds
So many different suns
And we have just one world
But we live in different ones

Now the suns gone to hell
And the moons riding high
Let me bid you farewell
Every man has to die
But its written in the starlight
And every line on your palm
Were fools to make war
On our brothers in arms

Mark Knopfler & Dire Straits "Brothers In Arms"

If you've been swept away by a poem, whether or not put to music and can help sweep us away, please join in and share your ocean of emotion/poetry in motion as well. Thank you so much all who have offered suggestions & shared their selections. It is greatly appreciated.

This is another wonderful moving song! Joan Baez has a very powerful rendition of it....

Here comes Peter Cottontail
Hoppin' down the bunny trail
Hippity hoppin', Easter's on its way

Bringin' every girl and boy
Baskets full of Easter joy
Things to make your Easter bright and gay

He's got jelly beans for Tommy
Colored eggs for sister Sue
There's an orchid for your mommy
And an Easter bonnet too

Oh! here comes Peter Cottontail
Hoppin' down the bunny trail
Hippity hoppity, happy Easter Day

Here comes Peter Cottontail
Hoppin' down the bunny trail
Hippity hoppin', Easter's on its way

Try to do the things you should
Maybe if you're extra good
He'll roll lots of Easter eggs your way

You'll wake up on Easter mornin'
And you'll know that he was there
When you find those chocolate bunnies
That he's hiding everywhere

Oh! here comes Peter Cottontail
Hoppin' down the bunny trail
Hippity hoppity, happy Easter Day

Hippity hoppity, happy Easter Day

I had to bring some levity into our current situation

Meh, theres always something to wonder about, worry about or forget about. AS long as we ramble on and enjoy the scenery without taking more than we give, its all just a whole lot of 'sit back and enjoy the ride, just dont fill up on jalapeno cheese and papaya and you'll have a good journey.

Oooooooo I love it. Thank you. Easter weekend just wouldn't be Easter weekend without this one being sung. I dont know how old the song is, but I was about 3 when I learned it. Not surprisingly I only recall the first 2 verses and the ending so this was a great refresher
