Poetry in motion Day 15 of 30 April is national poetry month and while I do follow along with my local library's daily selection, this year instead of writing my own poetry or sharing a classic of another, I am sharing songs, well lyrics of songs, that I consider pure poetry. Poetry in motion as it were. If you've been swept away by a poem, whether or not put to music and can help sweep us away, please join in and share your ocean of emotion/poetry in motion as well. We all have them don't we? Those poems as songs that roll over you like a tidal wave, making you close your eyes, open your ears, throw your head back and tune out the world as the tune itself drowns you in feeling! They can be sweet or sad, moving or numbing, quiet and gently stirring or fierce and loud. And sometimes....they just make you fucking HOT! Well gee whiz. That's almost like a favorite story of mine. If anyone would get to live it for a bit, scary or not, I'm glad it was you. Until I hear a plane pass over head last week, I hadn't even realized how I hadn't been hearing them all day like normal. As much as the media would have us believe differently based on a few select areas of higher than normal discontent, around me most are good spirited and hanging n there desperate for a much needed rest of body, soul and planet. Seeing the life we made as we know it slow down made me realize, just how much better off we are without all the givens and takings. I think Im going to do a 10 day internet fast at the end of the month. No net at all for a week or so. as much as people swear thats the only way they are surviving, I see how much stress its adding.
