Poetry in motion Day 17 of 30 April is national poetry month and while I do follow along with my local library's daily selection, this year instead of writing my own poetry or sharing a classic of another, I am sharing songs, well lyrics of songs, that I consider pure poetry. Poetry in motion as it were. If you've been swept away by a poem, whether or not put music and can help sweep us away, please join in and share your ocean of emotion/poetry in motion as well. Special thanks drmgirl622, 4Faksake, jenny, mockyloks & tsarah, who have offered suggestions or shared their selections.....It is greatly appreciated! **POST IN COMMENTS DUE POOR SITE FEATURE MAINTENANCE** Sometimes I make a move, sorry to leave my home, but hope I will find another of equal character. At night I gaze at the starry mass with no idea to which one the earth attached. May'be that cute little one over there or that one that sits alone in the inky black. ~~ 'My place amongst the stars' c/o former member SPB ~~ |

We all have them don't we? Those poems as songs that roll over you like a tidal wave, making you close your eyes, open your ears, throw your head back and tune out the world as the tune itself drowns you in feeling! They can be sweet or sad, moving or numbing, quiet and gently stirring or fierce, fucked and loud. I like that you're broken Broken like me Maybe that makes me a fool I like that you're lonely Lonely like me I could be lonely with you I met you late night, at a party Some trust fund baby's Brooklyn loft By the bathroom, you said let's talk But my confidence is wearing off These aren't my people These aren't my friends She grabbed my face and that's when she said [CHORUS] I like that you're broken Broken like me Maybe that makes me a fool I like that you're lonely Lonely like me I could be lonely with you There's something tragic, but almost pure Think I could love you, but I'm not sure There's something wholesome, there's something sweet Tucked in your eyes that I'd love to meet These aren't my people These aren't my friends She grabbed my face and that's when she said [CHORUS] Life is not a love song that we like We're all broken pieces floating by Life is not a love song, we can try To fix our broken pieces one at a time [CHORUS] X2 Lovelytheband "Broken" Sometimes I make a move, sorry to leave my home, but hope I will find another of equal character. At night I gaze at the starry mass with no idea to which one the earth attached. May'be that cute little one over there or that one that sits alone in the inky black. ~~ 'My place amongst the stars' c/o former member SPB ~~

cuzi I can really identify with these lyrics! People here may not be broken, but we are not "main stream"! Yet , we find friends ,and acceptance.....and, for some, partners! A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing. George Bernard Shaw Jenny

I Wish You Love Gloria Lynne Goodbye, no use leading with our chins This is where our story ends Never lovers, ever friends Goodbye, let our hearts call it a day But before you walk away I sincerely want to say I wish you bluebirds in the spring to give your heart a song to sing And then a kiss but more than this I wish you love And in July a lemonade to cool you in some leafy glade I wish you health and more than wealth I wish you love My breaking heart and I agree that you and I could never be So with my best, my very best, I set you free I wish you shelter from the storm A cozy fire to keep you warm But most of all when snowflakes fall I wish you love My breaking heart and I agree that you and I could never be So with my best, my very best, I set you free I wish you shelter from the storm A cozy fire to keep you warm But most of all when snowflakes fall I wish you love Another oldie to make you smile

Your antisenimentalitism is gonna get you in trouble one of these days. Did you just say that I'm a descendant of The Avengers? I KNEW IT! *joins outward facing circle of sheroes with attitude eyebrow cocked for action* Your songs melody makes me wanna do the robot! I'm horrible at it, so we'll call it version -14.0, otherwise, whoa, that's techno within techno! Its adorably yoko onoesque Sometimes I make a move, sorry to leave my home, but hope I will find another of equal character. At night I gaze at the starry mass with no idea to which one the earth attached. You're so right, there are many things and situations these lyrics could apply to. Sometimes I make a move, sorry to leave my home, but hope I will find another of equal character. I shall do my best, thank you. Do or do not, there is no try! Sometimes I make a move, sorry to leave my home, but hope I will find another of equal character. At night I gaze at the starry mass with no idea to which one the earth attached.
