Poetry in motion Day 25

April is national poetry month and while I do follow along with my local library's daily selection, this year instead of writing my own poetry or sharing a classic of another, I am sharing songs, well lyrics of songs, that I consider pure poetry. Poetry in motion as it were.

If you've been swept away by a poem, whether or not put music and can help sweep us away, please join in and share your ocean of emotion/poetry in motion as well.

Special thanks drmgirl622, 4Faksake, jenny, mockyloks & tsarah, who have offered suggestions or shared their selections.....It is greatly appreciated!

Sometimes I make a move, sorry to leave my home, but hope I will find another of equal character.
At night I gaze at the starry mass with no idea to which one the earth attached.
May'be that cute little one over there or that one that sits alone in the inky black

We all have them don't we? Those poems as songs that roll over you like a tidal wave, making you close your eyes, open your ears, throw your head back and tune out the world as the tune itself drowns you in feeling!

They can be sweet or sad, moving or numbing, quiet and gently stirring, fierce, hell no, fuck yeah, or fucked up and loud.

She was a fast machine
she kept her motor clean
She was the best damn woman
that I ever seen

She had the sightless eyes
telling me no lies
Knocking me out
with those American thighs

Taking more than her share
Had me fighting for air
She told me to come
but I was already there

Cause the walls start shaking
The earth was quaking
My mind was aching
And we were making it
And you shook me all night long
Yeah you shook me all night long

I'm working double time
on the seduction line
She's one of a kind
she's just mine all mine

Wanted no applause
I'm just another course
Made a meal outta me
And come back for more

Had to cool me down
to take another round
Now I'm back in the ring
to take another swing

Cause the walls were shaking
the earth was quaking
My mind was aching
And we were making it

And you shook me all night long
Yeah you shook me all night long
Knocked me out I said you
Shook me all night long
You had me shaking and you
Shook me all night long
Yeah you shook me
When you took me

You really took me and you
Shook me all night long
You shook me all night long
Yeah, yeah, you shook me all night long
You really got me and you
Shook me all night long
Yeah you shook me
Yeah you shook me
All night long

This is another great Love Song

Last evening I watched a Grammy salute to Prince......what a force in the music business and around the world.

When Doves Cry
Prince, The Revolution

Dig if you will the picture
Of you and I engaged in a kiss
The sweat of your body covers G
Can you my darling
Can you picture this?

Dream if you can a courtyard
An ocean of violets in bloom
A nigga like me strikes curious poses
I feel the heat
The heat between me and you

How can you just leave me standing?
Alone in a world that's so cold?
Maybe I'm just too demanding
Maybe I'm just like my father, too bold
Maybe I'm just like my mother
She's never satisfied (She's never satisfied)
Why do we scream at each other
This is what it sounds like
When doves cry

Touch if you will my stomach
Feel how it trembles inside
Now you've got the butterflies all tied up
Don't make me chase
Even doves have pride

How can you just leave me standing?
Alone in a world so cold? (World so cold)
Maybe I'm just too demanding
Maybe I'm just like my father, too bold
Maybe I'm just like my mother
She's never satisfied (She's never satisfied)
Why do we scream at each other
This is what it sounds like
When doves cry

How can you just leave me standing?
Alone in world that's so cold
Maybe I'm just too demanding (Maybe, maybe I'm like my father)
Maybe I'm just like my mother (Maybe I'm just like my mother)
She's never satisfied (She's never, never satisfied)
Why do we scream at each other (Why do we scream, why)
This is what it sounds like
When doves cry

Maybe I'm just like my mother
She's never satisfied (She's never satisfied)
Why do we scream at each other (Why do we scream at each other)
This is what it sounds like
When doves cry

Thank you, Jenny. I think it's a kick ass lovin song as well.

Since you're in OZ too, do you think you can keep them from losing any more band members, regardless of the manner or understandable reasons?

Oh my, sweet Sarah, I do indeed think this could be a key song on many a Dominant or Submissive's playlists!

Im a nibbler but I myself would want to skip the psycho parts. Or so I like to tell myself!

Great selection, honey. Thank you so much for sharing it!

Awww crap, I forgot that was going to be on, so I missed it

Thank you for sharing the song. It is a great one with heart, passion, a point and a purpose and it was a definite slice of my coming of age.

The guy was odd, but damn wasn't he obscenely talented!
