Once upon a time, thankfully

Every day this month until Thanksgiving, think of one specific thing per day that you are thankful for and post . That's the goal anyway.

Today I am thankful for: Books & the amazing stories told on their pages

I could live without TV. I could live without movies. I could even live without the internet as long as I still had access to my county library.

Reading a good book is my entertainment and relaxation of choice. Some of the best thoughts & phrases have stuck with me for years and probably always will.

There are so sooooo many amazing writers in the world, but some just gave a way of phrasing things that get to the heart of everything. Stephen King is one. So is JK Rowling.

2 lines, both from the same book are still floating through my skull regularly even 15 years later. The latter may be my favorite quote of all time.

“Words are, in my not-so-humble opinion, our most inexhaustible source of magic. Capable of both inflicting injury, and remedying it.”

“Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it isn't real?"

I love a good book, especially a story with clever word play and endearing characters.
I have and have always had access to so many wonderful tales and for that, I am grateful.

Sometimes I make a move, sorry to leave my home, but hope I will find another of equal character.
At night I gaze at the starry mass with no idea to which one the earth attached.
May'be that cute little one over there or that one that sits alone in the inky black

I agree with everything you say and love good books , especially biographies of interesting people

I'm thankful that I have been able to retire comfortably.

A good book is a good book. And good writers make all the difference, especially I would say, with biographies

Yay! Happy dances. I'm down!

Huh, he dances like Tom Hiddleston (or vise versa). Must be an across the pond thing cuz I don't see anyone around here doing it real time. I love it though. It is VERY Astaire-Kelly like with the wide sweeping slides!!💙♥️💜

Lol you DO love your tube comments. Me? I rarely remember that they exist.

I like when a writer has their own recognizable voice in their writing especially if it's consistent. I enjoy a few authors who switch over different genres and it works for me and apparently them because that voice somehow carries over.

I like a good story writer but I LOVE a great word smith. Those rate few who are both....,? Swoon.
