The War in Ukraine; Short Version

What happened initially was, quite simply, a larger country/people perceiving weakness in a smaller one, and therefore deciding to add that territory to it’s own domain. Nothing unusual, historically speaking, and all those countries/people who you hear whining about it right now, or at least their ancestors, have at one point come by the ground which they currently occupy exactly the same way.

What makes the situation unique, of course, is that thus far no nuclear power has ever engaged in such a war of conquest. And the risk of a nuclear war is obviously the reason why the West, as in NATO, has thus far left it with supplying Ukraine with money and weapons, rather than getting actively involved in the conflict. As they did, for example, in former Yugoslavia during the 1990s. Putting a lid on that conflict was little more than a large scale military exercise for NATO, and, nuclear weapons notwithstanding, putting a lid on Russia, which isn’t even capable of successfully invading little Ukraine, wouldn’t have been much more difficult. The Americans, for example, would have finished a similar invasion of a smaller neighboring country within a couple of weeks.

Now, why did Russia fail so miserably in what, considering the respective size and military power of the two countries, should have been a rout? Well, Czar Vladimir and his commanders made one crucial error. Their assumption had been that Ukranians had already degenerated into what is currently the predominant cultural trend in the West. So the hope was that the invading Russian forces would run into a people uninterested in defending it's own country, who‘d welcome them waving rainbow flags and attempting to discuss "gender issues" with them. And with whom the Russian soldiers could then have had various kinds of fun.

Unfortunately for the Czar and his troops, unlike pampered Westerners, Ukranians (and Eastern Europeans in general) haven’t spent their whole lives being unattackable due to the protection through NATO’s nuclear power. So they couldn’t yet affort the stupidity of a feminized society, but are, out of necessity, still wired far more nationalistic and patriarchical. Which is why, upon being attacked, a much larger number of Ukranians than expected immediately assumed the natural gender roles: Men kill the enemies, women support them and take care of the family. And this is precisely why Ukranians are currently doing such an excellent job proving their right to exist, and why Russians are facing a quagmire, rather than the pushover they had expected.

And now things are apparently getting to the point where the Russians are beginning to jump at each other’s throat; an interesting development indeed...
