The Perfect Thanksgiving

I only gained two pounds... turkey and all the trimmings, two kinds of pie. The table was just big enough for two , four middle agers and three seniors. Everybody contributed something to the joy of the occasion, including the and cat. We gathered the next day to take the for a run at the old Civil War gun emplacement, followed by a one-hour drive to the cabin where the boy caught a huge bass.

We set the scene the day before with Tom Hanks and Mr. Rogers. Thanksgiving couldn't help but follow suit.

Thanks, drmgirl. I hope your holiday was enjoyable too. For some reason I usually go into a funk over the holidays. I'm hoping I've broken that pattern. Staying out of the stores and taking the time to see three better-than-average flicks helped.

No, I took a sledge hammer to it years ago.

That's right .... Fucking thing went belly up and started adding fictitious pounds every time we stepped on it.

Yeah, right about the same time our clothes started shrinking.

That was a weird time ..... Did we have a good Thanksgiving?

We did indeed! Bought a fully prepared meal from the Golden Corral, so we didn't even have to cook. Just re-heat and do some dishes ..... I love simplicity.

And no scales to step on .....

 Thank you. It was an enjoyable day at our house too. Lots of family get together. Didnt eat too much, like last year. Feeling good!

You'll have to teach me your method for not over eating. I can resist anything but temptation, especially during the holidays. I'm going to have to go down to the basement and take the drying laundry off the universal weight machine and treadmill.
