Impeach the sonofabitch already!

There's one simple reason to impeach the dumb bastard.

I want the Articles of Impeachment to be sitting on Mitch McConnel's desk by at least Wednesday, not because I think this pusillanimous Republican crowd has the stones to try him now, but so that whatever lunatic treasonous new outrage this traitor commits in his last days in office, all the Senate will have do is call the court to order and lower the boom on him.

In the name of my brother officer Brian Sicknick,
Justice!

"I take it you're not a Labor man."

Do you mean Labour, the political party or labour as in Blue Collar? (By no means the same these days!)

Politically I am more About than Tory though I couldn't bring myself to vote for them under the last leadership. Nor could millions of others which is partly why we a having so much fun with our current clusterfucker in charge.

But I wouldn't describe myself as blue collar.

My comments about the BBC in the last post were just me and my good old sense of British sarcasm.

    Quoting DickTastee:
    >>your new president cannot start work until that process is concluded<<

not true. i don't know which news outlet reported that, but that is simply not true.

in fact, trump can be impeached even after he leaves office. and there are several good reasons for impeachment, chief among them barring him from ever holding federal office again.

i suspect many republicans would actually like that.
The news outlet in question was the BBC and you are right; I had misquoted them. What they said (and it was repeated last night) was the Biden cannot swear in a cabinet until impeachment proceedings are concluded.

Quite what section of law dictates such a curious constraint I have no idea. Just relaying what the socialist, Commine pinko lefties at the "Biased Broadcasting Corporation" told me!

BTW, I doubt whether enough Republican lawmakers would be prepared to stick their heads above the parapet and vote for impeachment!

I take it you're not a Labor man. I quite agree that most Republican Senators don't have the moral fiber to stand up and be counted even if the sonofabitch were to shoot their children right in front of their eyes. If they were threatened with the loss of office, however, they would tear the motherfucker limb from limb in a trice and think nothing of it.

It occurred to me as well that barring him from federal office should be a consequence of conviction not least because it would appeal to those who aspire to take over his mantle, but I figured some wise commenter would probably note that. I'm not surprised it was you, my friend.

Stripping him of his power to pardon would also be a nice touch. Junior needs a nice stretch in the slammer.

are you running out of time old man? Its only 12 days, it takes them longer than that to pick their noses.

Dreamcatcher__ replies on 1/9/2021 3:11 am:
We're all running out of time my friend.

Those Articles of Impeachment are as good as on McConnel's desk right now. You'll be surprised how much the prospect of an imminent hanging at the hands their constituents will concentrate the mind of even the densest Senator.

At another time, Dreamcatcher, I might agree with you but from what I gather from a news report I watched tonight, if the impeachment process starts, your new president cannot start work until that process is concluded which doesn't sound like a good idea.

There's a mess to sort out there; record covid death rate today over there, I gather. (Same here, as it happens). There's also the small matter of restoring America's standing in the rest of the world. Both tough jobs and there's no time for delay or distraction.

Mind you, probably a good idea to relieve him of the nuclear codes. Now his Twitter account has been permanently suspended, he might be looking round for other ways to make a noise!

(Not funny, sorry)

Curses! Foiled again! lol I hadn't heard that. I'll have to look it up I guess. I'd be very surprised if that was the case, however.

Ditto on the agreement, DC.

The nightmare is almost over. With the Dems in control of the Senate hopefully controls will be put in place so no future President is ever above the law.

I feel pretty good about the multiple donations I made to Stacey Abrams, Warnock and Ossoff that were multiplied by 4 by matching donations. Let Freedom Ring!

Trump has been a bad boy. But if the elections were held today, I would still vote for him over Biden. Is my allegiance blind? No. The Dems can put up a better candidate.

Dreamcatcher__ replies on 1/8/2021 4:10 pm:
I'm afraid we'll just have to agree to disagree. I'm not sure what standards you use for deciding who to vote for, but evidently you're not aware of what Trump's supposed allies in the Senate and House of Representatives are saying about him or of the exodus from his cabinet and the White House.

If the law can convict a teenage
girl of manslaughter for texting
her boyfriend to kill himself which
he did.
Then why can't trump be
charged after telling protestors
to attack the capitol which resulted
in the murder of a capitol cop?

Dreamcatcher__ replies on 1/8/2021 4:13 pm:
Beats me. Sounds like accessory to murder.
