not the right kind of pain

Learned something new just now. If your nipples are a little sore, don't run on the treadmill! At least nobody looks at me weird, running while holding my boobs when it is in my basement!

I'm trying to keep up my new year's resolution of doing at least 30 minutes of exercise a day. It is frustrating though, I have been pretty consistent -- averaging at least 30 minutes 5 times a week (an hour of yoga on Wednesdays helps!) but the scale hasn't budged. Realistically I am not trying to lose weight, but trim the tummy a little. I also can totally tell I have been sick since my asthma kicked in with a vengeance after about 20 minutes. This getting older thing totally sucks!

I need to find a new yoga studio. I felt a lot better when I was doing 2-3 yoga sessions a week. Problem is that either I need to belong to a club, or suck it up and do the heated yoga. Of course the last time I did heated yoga I passed out -- so that seems dangerous. I suppose I could be more disciplined and do it at home with the video, it just works better when I have a separate space and time .

Asthma and age are the most unkind masters...lol. Staying fit and feeling well are the best goals from my experience. And take it easy on the nipples...lol

I totally understand the discipline thing shysub. I've been doing yoga for over 8 years, but it is hard to keep up a good practice at home. Something always interferes -- girl scouts at the door, dogs barking, the neighbor playing Call of Duty and yelling -- so that I don't stay in the zone at home. At a nice studio (or gym) with music and the soothing voice of an instructor keeping me moving, I am great. The studio I used to attend did 90 minute sessions, which were awesome. The class I am in now is only a 60 min one -- however she used this CD on Wednesday that my old instructor used. All of a sudden I was grooving, moving through poses really well (and like twice as fast as the class was going). I think I might try turning up the stereo at home and putting the phone on mute and seeing if that works.

You can punish yourself if you fail to do the goals you have set for yourself, but It has to be a punishment that is embarrassing/humiliating to you, maybe in public!! Contact me for ideas J
