Los Angeles Day 1: The arrival

Day One: Flying Out to LA

This was the second time I have ever flown anywhere as Sandy and I was wandering if there would be any problems from the little city I was leaving from. Especially since I am living in Springfield, Mo just 30 miles north of Branson. The area is not friendly to transgender people. They are a little too conservative and let religion rule their lives too much.

I had my good friend Shelly take me to the airport. She is my best female friend and knows all about me. It was hard for her to accept at first but she came around and told me "It's great now I have a girl friend to to go shopping and clubbing with.". Anyway she dropped me off at the airport and check in at the Airline counter was so uninteresting. The woman behind the counter took my ID then looked at me and never skipped a beat. She took my information and gave me my ticket as if there was nothing different. It was soo cool. My Drivers License is 2 years old and the picture is of a fat, shaved head man. I mean what I presented looked absolutely nothing like the ID.

Next came the fun of going though TSA security and I found out DON'T dress in anything with a lot of metal on it or huge earrings. I did both. I had these 3 inch hoop earrings on and my top had a thick 2 inch metal ring right over the chest. You guessed it, I was pulled out of line because I kept setting off the scanner. They called over a female security guard to do a more detailed check. That made me feel so much better since there was only one female guard and like 5-6 male. She took me over to an open area and asked if I wanted to do this in a private area. Being the attention I am I said no let's just do it here. She made me stand feet shoulder width apart and arm heal out in the air. She basically used a wand all over me finding all the metal. Then she frisked me with what looked like nitril gloves. They took the gloves over to another machine and she said it was to check for drug residue that was picked up from the frisking.

After the check by security it was on to the plane. The plane wasn't full which was surprising for the day before a holiday weekend. We ended up haveing a 15-20 minute flight delay as they had an oil pressure problem they need to have a mechanic check out. That is one thing you DON'T want to hear. The flight was uneventful and I was worried because our flight was delayed for take off and the after landing we were delayed by planes blocking our terminal. By the time I got to Baggage Claim I was almost an hour late. Tricia was waiting there for me and I felt horrible she had to wait there so damned long even though there wasn't anything I could do about it.

Tricia is a wonderful person and I can't say enough good things about her. She is a very good friend and I appreciate her letting me stay with her for a few days more than she knows.

Tricia drove us over to Gina's to say Hi and pick up an inflatable matteress. She gave me the $3 tour of her place. She has offered to let me stay a couple of nights at her place too. After the pizza party on Monday I will be going to stay with Gina for a couple of days. Then we headed off to Tricia's house. BTW, Aggressive, Defensive driving is the only way to drive on the freeways.

When we got to Tricia's I finally met MsJenny and she is a damned cool no nonsense girl. You know how some people are different online in a chat room from how they are in person. Well, what you see in chat is what she is like in person. I was really excited to finally meet her and what can I say she is just a fantastic person.

It just constantly blows me away how kind and giving these girls are. I don't just mean Tricia, Gina and MsJenny but all of the girls I have met lately. I can never say thank you enough to any of them.

Tricia, Gina and MsJenny it may sound mushy but I don't care. I love you guys and thank you.
