Lifting Up the Skirt of the Night

Wedding on the horizon.
Been told I'm not taking seriously. Can you blame me?
The entirety of my existence marriage is viewed as something permanent. Binding in the eyes of the law and a higher power that love is worth the paperwork with sincere vows. Then reality seeps in. It's nothing special because our idea of love doesn't exist; simply various levels of attraction and security. My fiancée taught me that. B/c, mentally, on the altar my mind fixates on being treated as a total stranger with no remorse. How can you say wedding vows to a cellphone with a straight face?
And this isn't cry for pity, boo-, poor wittle ole thee. More it's all a joke so why not view it as such? I'm too jaded yet I can't visualize a wedding as some serious affair; not with our history; hence no bended knee.
Doesn't matter. Not against TikTok and their "vibes."
