Some on sites liek this are great at on line, but the reality of face to face scare the hell out of them. And, if you did met, your perceptions would quite likely lead to disappointment anyway.

BTW, I have connected with a luthier who is going to make a Irish Bouzouki for me. He had been thinking about making one for his line, so he is as excited as I am to make a unique instrument.

So far, the basic shape, the scale length 25-1/2 , body size 14-7/9" at widest point, 4-1/8" deep, and and shape of the sound hole, along with the sure of a floating bridge, bones saddle and nut, Canary wood fret board, mahogany neck (Clapton shape), Back will have walnut and a third piece running up the middle of canary wood. Spruce top. Either clear or a canary wood pick guard if it can be cut thin enough. Going to put in a Fishman system most likely. Pyramid strings.ebony bridge.

Triangle shaped fret markers and the sound hole will have a circle of triangles. The binding will have small triangles The sound hole will be shaped like two trapezoids put back to back. The sides are not determined. Discussing Koa or Bubinga, but possible Indian Rosewood. Trying to get a more mellow sound than the typical bright sounding Irish Bouzoukis, Which seem to use more Maple for back and sides, often stained dark. Might use gold colored tuning pegs to go with hte canary. But leaning toward Chrome with black knobs.

Unless her pictures, descriptions and accounts of her body (and face) were all fabrications, it was more likely than not that I would not have been disappointed. I require myself to get all that stuff out of the way before meeting -- it's really the great advantage of meeting online.

Thanks for visiting.

Wow.

Congratulations. You are in your element. Designing, and integrating a new instrument is always so engaging. Good for you. Have you seen those guitars where the sound hole is almost like a speaker grille (but more elegant), and up by the switch area of a Les Paul? I once tracked down the designer of those guitars and he was absolutely certain that the sound hole location does not need to be directly under the strings, so ... (another thought).

I have an unfilled electric guitar body that I designed with a Spruce top. It is so beautiful, it's like solid milk sitting next to Milano cookies.

Congrats again, and thanks for the news.

Well, yeah, your scenario I kinda covered with my reference to the state of being jaded. And sure, one can speculate on the depths of deceit. But why would I want to do that with such a sweet interaction?

That sweetness, and it's life still inside me, is the ... well, nevermind.

Eye to eye or not, thanks for visiting.

When those long forgotten pop back up it's like remembering your first brain freeze......the sweet taste and then that numbing cold that brings you back around to do it one more time.

I hope the one more times are finished.

    Quoting  :

What a wonderful and wise thing to say. Well done.

In actual fact I was in that heightened awareness a writer sometimes enters into - or I enter into - where I am keenly aware of things which I normally do not experience. In those dull moments of common consciousness, of walking to the car, or stepping into the shower, my past haunts me each and every day.

Again, a fine comment. Thank you, and ...

Thanks for visiting.
