 OK peanut gallery ... On the 'Member Blogs' page (blog home page) ... On the right hand side, there is a section with the heading of Active Blogs (by unique responses).

Under this heading are two columns ... 30 Day Responders and Total Responses. Numerical values are shown in each column for each blogger shown.

The question peanuts is how do they determine the order of the bloggers? Neither column is in numerical sequence from the highest to the lowest. It's not quite a random number table, but seemingly not too far off either.

Inquiring minds want to know.

 I don't think math is involved. If you look at today's list there is someone named elegant96 who has not even posted a blog but is there. If you post a blog everyday you are on the list. Alt is broken on every level.

 If you go to the Active Blogs page it adds a third column for 30 day Responses.
It appears that is the key used to sort the list. So I guess getting recent repeat responders is most important

Ah .... Bingo. Clicked on the 'View All' beside Active Blogs and you get an actual numerical sequence from highest to lowest.

Far be it that ALT just put this information on the blog home page ... That'd be too simple.

 I have never figured it out either. I post once a day. Once in a blue moon twice in a day. I figure it is something like eBay rankings in search which I also will never understand. ~grin~ But it does seem to help to list regularly if you want to make sales.

Well (if my brain is functioning), if you have a 20 response day and your total goes down, a day with 21 or more responses must have dropped off the total.

That makes sense to me.

 Oh hell Plzrmeister I can't even find the page you are refering to!
If I go to the blogs I see the posts list by most recent. I've gone into my
profile, I can't find a blog home page, or any page that lists, 30 day resonders.

Just go to blogs. On the right hand side, you will see Active Blogs(by unique responses). To the direct right of that, you will see View All.

Click on the View Alland it takes you to the numerical order of top bloggers.

 OK, I've been to the community section so I've found the page you
where refering to. Or the page Greybrow was talking about anyway.
But when I clicked on 'view all' the third column I got was total responses
& they didn't list as highest to lowest. They where all over the place.
So I'm assuming these totals where over a longer time scale. But the 30
day resonders & 30 day responces added together would give the order the
list was in. As I say I didn't get that column, but perhaps you did, if it matched
the list order.

It's the second (middle) column. That's the ONLY one in a numerical sequence from high to low.

As shown, the top bloggers are listed according to 30 day responses.
