So does anyone here have an 'actual' bucket list ..... A list of the things you want to see and/or do before you kick the bucket? Personally, I don't.

I don't really have one either. I do want to live long enough to see my grandchildren grow up and become productive adults ... maybe even become a great grandparent. Does that qualify as being a bucket list - Living well into my 90's and still being of sound mind?

I'll count it if you will. I know a lot of people have a lot of things on their bucket list and God bless them - I hope they get everything checked off. I think the 'concept' has lost a lot of steam now though and not as 'trendy' as we move further and further away from the movie by the same name.

Perhaps so - Who knows? I bet many of the readers here will have one or two or several things they want to accomplish before they sail into the sunset. I'll also bet some will be changing the 'B" to an 'F'.

I can honestly say I do not have one. I'm pretty sure I have done all I wanted to do up until this point in my life. Very good point with the grandchildren though. This was a very good question.

Plzrmeister replies on 10/3/2023 6:00 am:
Yeah, living for the grandchildren is paramount on my mind. Not only seeing them grow into productive, good and decent adults .... But helping them to become such.

Another thing I thought of the other day was our pets ... two dogs and two cats. The oldest of any of them is 2 years .... I thought to myself, "These are the last dogs/cats I'll ever own." I also want to outlive any of them so that their lives are not disrupted in their latter years.

Nope, a slave cannot have her own wishes like that

Plzrmeister replies on 10/3/2023 12:00 pm:
Hmmmm .... That's an interesting question - Can a slave have a list of things she'd like to accomplish in life, or not? I guess this is one vote on the 'nay' side.

Wouldn't simply desiring to be an excellent slave qualify as a wish? This would be an interesting debate among slaves. Thanks for dropping by ... Come again!

Not really. But I hope to stay reasonably healthy and independent till my last day.

Plzrmeister replies on 10/3/2023 12:02 pm:
Another with no particular list of things to accomplish yet in life.

True .... Health and Independence are admirable aspirations though.

It's not a bucket list per se, but, I'd love to visit Italy one time before my number is called.

Plzrmeister replies on 10/3/2023 12:03 pm:
Hey! That's a bucket list.

It's just a small bucket.

I'd say it keeps you looking towards the future and that's a good thing.

Although, the Bucket to Fucket image made me chuckle.

Plzrmeister replies on 10/3/2023 8:58 am:
I agree ..... Continually looking forward is a good thing. It all depends on the simplicity of what you fill your bucket with .....

Glad you got a chuckle in!

I never understood one thing, about "having a bucket list"
Still dont get it..
So, i dont have one....
Did not see the movie, either... )

Sure, i would like it, when certain things, events will happen in my life..
WIthout that, i still will be living my life anyway.....

No difference, you see?

Plzrmeister replies on 10/3/2023 12:09 pm:
I didn't see the movie either. Just living one day at a time and enjoying what comes your way is a pretty good path forward.

I can relate to that. I can see both sides of this equation, although we haven't heard from anyone carrying around a five gallon bucket of things 'to do'.

"HI, buckaroos, Scamp Walker time again
I'm trying to slide one by you once more
Don't matter how you do it, you see, just do it like you know it
I've been down this road once or twice before

Just gettin' by on gettin' by's my stock in trade, living it day to day
Pickin' up the pieces wherever they fall
Just letting it roll, letting the high times carry the low
Just living my life easy come, easy go

Last week I was thinking, it's record time again
And I could see Mike Maitlin pacin' the floor
Ahh Mike, don't you worry, something's bound to come out
Besides, I've been down this road once before

Just gettin' by on gettin' by's my stock in trade, living it day to day
Pickin' up the pieces wherever they fall
Just letting it roll, letting the high times carry the low
Just living my life easy come, easy go

Just gettin' by on gettin' by's my stock in trade, living it day to day
Pickin' up the pieces wherever they fall
Just letting it roll, letting the high times carry the low
Just living my life easy come, easy go

Income tax overdue, now I think she is too
Been busted and I'll probably get busted some more
But I'll catch it all later, can't let 'em stop me now
I've been down this road once or twice before

Just gettin' by on gettin' by's my stock in trade, living it day to day
Pickin' up the pieces wherever they fall
Just letting it roll, letting the high times carry the low
Just living my life easy come, easy go

Just gettin' by on gettin' by's my stock in trade, living it day to day
Pickin' up the pieces wherever they fall
Just letting it roll, letting the high times carry the low
Just living my life easy come, easy go
Living my life easy come, easy go..." Jerry Jeff Walker

My favorite Jerry Jeff Walker song is Mr. Bojangles.

My favorite rendition of it is by Neil Diamond circa 1969.

"His dog up and died, he up and died"

Those lyrics make me choke up every time.

I still make goals, I once knew a 90 year old who said "I have to plan like I'll be here for 10 years", that makes life interesting. Seemed like a good idea.

I have places to go, see the Aurora Borealis, among other things.

Plzrmeister replies on 10/4/2023 4:49 am:
OK .... Sounds like a bucket list of sorts to me. Seeing the Aurora Borealis would be really cool ..... Hope you achieve that.

I make 'general' plans for the future, but they don't involve going places or doing specific things.

not so much a list as some vague notions : )

Plzrmeister replies on 10/4/2023 4:53 am:
Vague notions are good ... I'd think they'd keep one pointed in a general direction. I also think vague is better than specific - That way, one doesn't fret over getting everything accomplished.

Yeah ..... Worrying and running yourself ragged isn't anything I'd think people would put on their list. Life's too short as it is.

I totally have a Fuck-it List. Oh wait, that wasn't the question.

I don't really have a bucket list. I try to do the things that sound interesting to me and am making an effort to keep active and healthy so I can continue to do so.

Ars longa, vita brevis - Art is long, life is short

Plzrmeister replies on 10/4/2023 4:57 am:
Yeah, taking advantage of opportunities that present themselves to us is a good way to go rather than chase after them, or so it seems to me.

Active and healthy ... You and me both! Enjoying a hell of a lot more years on this side of the grass is definitely on my list/agenda.

Those lyrics make me choke up every time."
"We spoke in tears of fifteen years
How his dog and him
They travelled about
His dog up and died
He up and died
After twenty years he still grieves..." never heard of seen Neil Diamond's version. It's hard to BEAT Jerry Jeff's version, seen him live multiple times over the years in small venues in DC and Annapolis, sad day when he died! "The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band" did the song very well, too!
'Ronald Clyde Crosby, from Oneonta, New York, U.S...."

Plzrmeister replies on 10/4/2023 11:08 am:
Those lyrics tell a story one can easily visualize and imagine the hole his dog's death left in his heart.

Try Y-tube for the Neil Diamond version. I just listened to it .... I miss that dog too.
