We all get into these situations, don't we? Simply put, a quandary is a state of confusion or doubt .... They come and go, but we all get to that state occasionally.

Yeah, I can relate to a quandary from time to time, but I don't let them cripple me or take up too much of my time. I tend to size up the situation, think it through to the best of my ability, make a decision or an action to take and move on with life. One can either dwell on a situation or one can deal with it .... or so it seems to me.

I agree with that and I tend to do the same thing. You simply have to play the cards you get dealt in life - You don't get to reshuffle the deck or throw your cards in. I know a lot of people who will almost become paralyzed analyzing a situation rather than dealing with it. I call it 'Analysis to Paralysis'.

I hear ya dude. You may do the right thing or you may not .... but DO SOMETHING! Maybe that's easy for us to say, since we're not walking in other peoples' shoes, but I think everyone knows what I'm saying. There are people of action and there are people who look to others for direction. Oh well....

You're preaching to the choir. He who hesitates is lost .... Where have I heard that?

Maybe here ....... He who hesitates is lost. That adage is an adaptation of a line from Joseph Addison's 1712 play Cato: a Tragedy, in which Roman senator Cato the Younger's daughter Marcia exclaims, “The woman who deliberates is lost.” Success comes from action; those who delay may not succeed.

You gotta know when to hold 'em......

Hold em or fold em .... Just make a decision one way or the other and move on to the next hand.

Yeah ... If you don't want to play the game, get up from the table.

I had a boss who in the first review, commented on some of the mistakes I made. He told me he would rather see mistakes that can be corrected than to not see any work from others who did little or nothing. He added keep doing what you do, you learn from mistakes. You don't learn a thing by not making mistakes.

So true .... We're all going to stumble and make mistakes along the way. One just gets up, dusts themselves off and keeps moving - Metaphorically speaking.

Your boss was an intelligent man. Give people free rein to make mistakes and they will get better and better at whatever task they're undertaking.

"Analysis to Paralysis". I like it, no one wants to go down that road.

To try to keep up with the catchy rhyme.
How about a quandary is a self-inflicted boundary?

Don't let your doubts kneecap your progress. imho

Plzrmeister replies on 5/8/2024 10:19 am:
I can't take credit for "Analysis to Paralysis" ... A local financial advisor has a radio program each Saturday and I picked that up from him years ago. It's applicable for any and all procrastinators .....

Procrastinate, then Hibernate .... I think that's one of Yogi's phrases.
