Paid Patriotism

Hi all,

Don't know how pissed off you all were when you heard the news that certain teams in the NFL/NHL/MLB and the pro soccer leagues in america were paid money to host military members.

You know any time they allowed a service member to sing the national anthem or warmly welcomed someone back from<b> iraq... </font></b>these teams got PAID from the defense dept and called it advertising.

I nearly lost my damn mind!....The NFL has BILLIONS... they don't need my tax dollars in support...This is a huge insult to anyone that has ever put their boots on the ground and manned ( or womaned) up for this country.
Hell we have vet homeless in our streets.. and we're giving money to the nfl?

I know some folks here aren't big supporters of war.. that's cool. But I think we can all agree in supporting those in the military.

I think these sports teams should be ashamed of themselves. I think these season ticket holders should call their teams and demand the money be returned or forwarded to a veterans' group.
