what to get mom for mother's day I am taking suggestions on what to get my mom for mother's day....what do mom's really want? so I thought I would ask the mom's in the audience at alt and see what they had to say. I think the average mom is just sorta tired of the standard flower arrangement.. FYI my mom isn't a spring chicken..lol ..so no suggestions of a jet pack or bungi jumping. Thanks |

a day of pampering...massage A night away get a room with a hot tub flowers for the garden basket with bottle of wine, lush products dinner so she doesn't have to cook something sexy to wear from you/maybe a nice comfy pjs or robe from kids for your mom a pamper day works well with mani/pedi hair gift cert to fav restaurant coupons to for date night with you take her to a movie and dinner a couple times or a day out shopping used to do this with my gram for mothers day would pick her up and we would spend the day shopping she would often fall in love with a blouse or such I bought it for her as part of the gift then took her out to lunch or dinner depending on the time of day. It wasn't about the items bought but it was more that I was hers to spend the day with as in the busy world we are in often that time is the most precious gift. And I have many fond memories of those special one on one days with her as she was like a mom to me. Other years I would do the gardens, I supplied all the flowers going in and a day or two digging up the gardens and planting everything, as she got older this she appreciated so much as she had always had beautiful gardens as I grew up and as she got older it was harder for her to get into the garden to do the planting and such so this way every year one of us or two of us would see the gardens were a bright array of colours of her favourite blooms that would last the season. Cut flowers come and die so quickly this way she had a full season or two of flowers to look forward to.

I think a mani-pedi is always nice!! Some people are not into someone touching their body, so a massage might be a bit much. I always appreciate the time my family spends with me on Mother's Day. A barbecue or a nice meal out, with everyone is very rewarding and pictures let you revisit that day again and again. But that might not be an option if distance is involved. And I love it when my daughter makes me something very special ( she is the crochet Queen ya know). She has made me so many beautiful things over the years, shawls, comforters, throw blankets, even things for my kitties. Thought my thoughts on gifts for a Mother. I lost my Mother this year to Breast Cancer on January 16th. So it will be a bit challenging for me. But I do look forward to my family coming in to Tucson and spending the day with me. That's the gift I love the most... hugs n kisses from my grand-kids, their cute cards that they pick out or even sometimes make... Yes, thats what I appreciate the most for Mother's Day the love my family shares with me!! "Seeking soul-mate!! Seduce my mind and you can have my body, touch my soul and I’m yours forever! "

Er all these are wonderful suggestion. Thank u. But she is like 90 plus and in a nursing home like 10 hrs/ 5 states away. I was thinking more like chocolates?
