"a new leaf; turned" In the same vein as the previous post; “new year”, I give you<b> poetry </font></b>/ lyrics for a better tomorrow (for me anyways):  a new leaf; turned I don’t belong here, I am an abomination an offense to the eye and mind I am the most negative fool I know but time to leave of that behind - Time for a new perspective a better outlook life a different way of living time push the past aside - I feel the broken breath, the broken love the fear, the heartbreak and dread reminding myself of bad decisions I’ve made poor choices and mistakes kept on “repeat” in my head - Time stunts griefs sharpest edges so that it hacks rather than slices memory opens old wounds, once thought healed regret eats away at hope when left its own devices - But I refuse give in the negative my future will be better than my past I will strive survive, keep hope alive see how long this positive outlook can last - The door is closed but my mind is open how long before cruel words are spoken? and promises broken? - My heart beats heavy with equal parts hope and misfortune |
