"the dark"  the dark - The world is a dark and scary place even in broad daylight so many terrifying realities haunt us keep us at home, locked up tight - We don’t need to invent another boogeyman no horror story could possibly compare to what’s going on outside our doors what’s happening right now, right here - And that creature glaring at you that you think you recognize is just your reflection in the mirror staring back at you with your own eyes - The beast within us all is a beast without virtue prone to animalistic impulse to the darker side of our nature - No conscience, no integrity no decency or morality - That thing lurking in the closet is no demon or ghost it’s a physical manifestation of all our bad deeds and guilt it’s you and I at our worst - Real life is much more horrifying than any imagined beast could ever be the real abominations are you and me - The beast within us all is a beast without virtue prone to animalistic impulse to the darker side of our nature - No conscience, no integrity no decency or morality - It’s futile to try to run and hide from the monster inside but you can if you want to - What the monster does when it catches you in the dark is devour you |

I think the part about the creature we see in the mirror is us, and how we don't need to create any new monsters there are plenty already out there.
