One of the rudest inventions ever to grace the face of the planet simultaneously manages to pander to the whims of the code pendant as well as trigger the socially anxious in one fell swoop.

Those who crave the attention of others have built businesses on the back of their need to be recognised, to be told repeatedly just how beautiful or healthy or skillfully they are on an hourly basis, sitting and watching the counter tick higher and higher fuelling their narcissism to new levels with each zero that attaches itself to their latest post - Hours upon hours of every day is given over to getting the right shot, making the right pose, selling themselves like cattle for the likes and votes of people who don't have the confidence to do that themselves.

These people provide just the right amount of voyeurism for those wanting to live vicariously through others while maintaining a lifestyle that provides comfort instead of danger, change or discomfort, they can be seen to be included in a lifestyle that is out of their element, to be linked to that person however tangentially is to be part of something, an inclusion to a world where dichotomy riding celebrities have their needs catered for by those who lack the necessary time or money to become the next generation - Like anything disposable they soon fall victim to their own fan bases, families of like minded individuals who strive to uphold their leaders doctrine as if acolytes for cannon, one wrong move and they find themselves replaced by the newest, freshest face on the scene with the latest gimmick to sell more than they can.

A world devoted to the aesthetically minded, using whatever tools they can to create communities which turn like rabid dogs upon their leader without a second thought is no easy way to live, thousands of people going from praising every single action or word to vilifing them in the same breath causes their entire world to crumble from beneath them - A foundation based upon images or 140 characters alone will not make for a solid basis of worth, demeaning their every intent from the moment they start to the moment they stop their lives are consumed by this seemingly vacuous way of being.

Soon enough taking breaks from what made them is the only way that they can continue being that person, before privacy was something happily cast aside to gain a rapport and create a sense of familiarity but after a while the pressure to maintain that level of familiarity starts to take effect, no longer is it one person connecting with a few like minded individuals, its now a leader and a community, this instills an anxiety which only fuels their already shaky self confidence - Before long breaks are needed, time away is needed, being apart from those who's support, time, money and effort made them who they are is the only way that they can continue to be that same person, each action being cross examined for fault leaves a sense of criminal action in everything they do.

The fall of a leader of such voracious communities is nothing new to anyone who knows of them, fan bases are notorious for turning on their idols and the lives they made based on their careers soon become too unstable to ever be viable once more, leaving no other option but to retire with whatever little grace is left.
