75 years, It has been 75 years ago that Auschwitz, in Polen, was liberated by the Russians. Auschwitz stands for all the other, so many destruction camps. There is a whole program in Holland, there are not that many survivers anymore. There are still a lot of storys to be heard. To read, to know! The way the Nazies organized that camp is the core of evil, devilish. The best way to kill a whole population is by killing their , too The Dutch traincompany (NS) worked together with the Nazies, to move all those people to all those camps They even got paid for it. Now they say, we want to make amends, they want to pay the survivals and their offspring for all the missery the NS, our national train company did to those people. Also Philips had factories in Polen, where judes, sinti, gays, mental sick, communists, jehova witness, and many more, where put to work, without pay offcourse! The other day i heard a radio interview, a woman said; all this would never have been possible to happen, if the whole Dutch population demanded to have that jude star on them too. we are all judes.! Also there was a man, telling there was already a very high tendency to discriminate the judes, everywhere. Auschwitz was already in the air...... There are a lot of programs on the radio and TV too. This needs to be remember, although there are also survivers of this war, who say, let it all rot to hell. Let it all just be. Dont pay attention to it, anymore. Forget it..... There are right wing, neo nazi groups everywhere in the world.(again) |

There always were those groups who hate and there will always be as there will also always be judes  It is a fact of the forces of evil and good existing in all realms. Maybe it is a balance that keeps us aware, I wish it were not true.I realized this when I was a girl growing up in the racist South. My father was jewish and we went to visit my jewish Nona and she had a black maid who kept a separate plate and glass in the cupboard. She was not allowed to eat inside and sat on the porch to do so. When my mother and I went shopping with Nona, the maid came and she made her sit on newspaper so shewouldn't touch her car seat. I remember thinking the irony that a woman who was persecuted for her religion would take importance over another human being.... xo

I have seen a lot of tv documtaries about the second world war, i have read a lot of witnesses of this war, those stories still shock me. There is this story about Anna Frank, who has been betrayed by the carpenter who worked for the Jewish counsel. The carpenter who made that closet, that secret closet/door. Human nature can be fragile..... morals are not set in stone... when it comes to family, survival......

infinitepoetess, oh! yes! that kind of madness, blindness of self... human madness. Were i live, ( not the town in my profile) , people are proud to pester a african american family out of their house. The housing company does nothing about it, laughs at it...... That is 'normal' in this part of Holland, here..... shudders... I want to move!

There will always be people that are going to be cruel to you or treat you differently. It's not because they like you or they don't like you. It's because you're different, and people fear what's different. As a child I went to a black school of just over 300 students where I was one of maybe 20 white students and there were maybe 3 white teachers. I can tell you all about discrimination. Do I feel any hate for those that treated me badly without knowing anything about me? No, because I understand why. When I was in my 20's I had a woman friend that was raised in a very wealthy family in Germany. She had a tattoo of numbers on her right forearm that looked like a stamping machine did it. She had spent several years in a prison camp. She told me everything she saw or experienced while she was there. There are always going to be people who are like this where ever you go. Try to do one thing nice for someone today.

alwaysassertive, there was a real person, i believe it was a Polish guy who did all the number tatoeëring.. i read that somewhere in a tattoo history book... It was that, or he would have been killed too. Yes, everything, everyone that is 'different' is for most narrowminded people scary. But antisemitism is something deeper, i believe... I try to do that, everyday... But, boy oh boy! it is not easy.... somedays.....? sssttt!
