Madagascar Madagascar is such a beautiful Island... Madagaskar, is in such a bad shape, there is so much poverty. Madagascar is an Island at the African Coast, just in case you did not know that already, LOL People have to live? survive from less then $2 dollar per day.! Also there are so many diseases, there is even the black dead,! and even the measles is there a very dangerous disease. The measles! The black dead! Do you know what that means? That was once a very contagious disease! Half the population, or more of Europe died of the Black dead! It is 2020! Black dead? And Nobody cares much.... Or even knows about this situation......... Heard this on the radio and was in shock. How is that even possible! ? |

That is what you get, when you are sick and get bored and listen too much to the radio... Have no energy for anything, and want to do al kind of things at the same time.!!

I do not want to sound unsympathetic, but some might say that this is another example of a country that wanted its independence, got it (around 1960, from the French), and is living with the consequences. Look at the history since then. Africa is littered with such examples.

rosa I hope you are better soon! Yes, it is a tragedy that places like this are NOT helped!! A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing. George Bernard Shaw Jenny

These low iq types in shit hole third world countries need to learn how to breed responsibly and if not let Mother Nature cull the herd. Also we need to stop sending aid and we need to stop letting these r*p&ng, murdering, cowardly, cruel, ugly genetically innately inherently evil, criminal, parasitic, terroristic scum into our countries!

In 10th grade I wrote a paper on the "black death" (bubonic plague) and was shocked, but then weirdly (and only slightly) aroused when I read about all the necrophilia (and quasi-necrophilia) that went on in the burial pits. *shudder* Thankfully that didn't turn into a fetish for me. You probably know that vanilla is big business in Madagascar. The farmers actually hand-brand each vanilla bean pod to guard against theft. I tried to post an interesting and current article about that but the system flagged it as "email" for some reason.

davek, Yes, vanilla and the woods, forest, offcourse. And all the corrupt structure. Burning the woods, so they can make more profit or chopping the wood, so we, the Western countrys have our Hard wood garden chairs and such... Taking, but not giving anything back.... I would be very much interested in that article, if you would try and post it again? Please? Thanks of posting, even the necrophilia... shudders!

Blkdomboy, Wel, you care, and i and so does jenny.... and some others on this site.. There are really people who really care. keep the faith alive.....

Vovimbaghie, Hmm, what a reaction! Maybe i am allowed to remember you, that before we, us whites, mingled with the local politics, lied and cheated our way to their golden bucket at the end of the Rainbow, they were having their own economy. It might not have anything like "our" way of a economy but who said there is just one way to trade? Anyway, thank you for your reaction.

jenny, i am slightly possitive about my health, it fééls better... but... you know?! I do my very best! Yes! it is a shame, taking, without giving anything back, or just give back some nasty deadly diseases..... And dont help them to deal with that disease.... People without a inner moral compas. The balance is gone, far gone, in the world.

Rosa, the article was published in Businessweek magazine in December 2019 and is titled "Vanillanomics." For some reason it doesn't come up in a search from the Bloomberg site but if you enter "Vanillanomics" into one of the major search engines it's the very first result. Or you can try this; just replace the "dot" with a dot. bloombergdotcom/features/2019-economics-of-vanilla-markets-madagascar/

davek, Thank you, i will look into that!
