Going out? Friends of me, and i, we made the appointment to have diner in a fine North-African restaurant. And, then Corona hit the fan! So, now we talk about, should we, do we want to go have diner? In a restaurant, with other people, from wich we dont know, where they have been, with who, and all that? I dont like that idea, at all! I wear my mask, So i have to put my mask down and eat…. ? breathe too, that makes it all just a bit easier eating + breathing!  I dont want to do that! Just NO! So, i was thinking... Maybe we can come together and cook diner with each other, in one of our houses? Then i thought….? Hmm, do i know with whom they have had contact? I mean, the partner/D of this girlfriend has a shop.... So...? he meets a lot of people! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ An other friend of me, works in the Healthcare, elderly people. This elderly woman, her is going to Croatia for his holliday. Croatia is now again; code orange! So people have to come back! So, he comes back.. Does he act responsible? Is he quarantaine himself? For 14 days? Or does he visit his mother.. without knowing is he is sick? carry the virus? So, my friend could be in danger, too. So could i?! If i visit her and put my mask down and drink something with her...? ( i did that, the other day...)  Keep your circle small, very small. |

And still, people just dont act responsible, At least, as i see it... "i cant see the virus, so it is not there?! I mean, you also cant "see" cancer? So you dont let yourself be treated? when the doctor tells you, you have *** cancer? You cant cure stupid.

It will be around for some time. In an educated society it is amazing how many stupid people there are. They have reverted to a nineteenth century mentality.

My daughter has just returned from a state (SC) that is on my state's (PA) quarantine list. I reminded her what quarantine means. Stay home and especially don't come visit me.

Do what your common sense tells you to do ! I have been " shielding " for close onto 20 weeks now &, TBH, I don't think that I can manage to be alone for much longer ! Myself & 4 other " Grumpy old gits " generally lunch every Thursday & I do miss the " craic " & the companionship & it has been suggested that we resume our lunches but I do view it with some trepidation so not sure that I can offer advice ! Lol !!!

I am going to venture out on Sunday to have my hair done, now that hairdresses are open again, have to get rid of the grey  BUT i will still keep my mask on

It is a shame that wearing a mask has become a political statement instead of a sign of good faith by the wearer.

My circle is pretty small and I haven't even seen my Dad since February......we all have to do our part and be as responsible as possible.

I work in a shop and we are constantly cleaning then when i get home i am straight in the shower to help keep my flat safe for visits. I plan on going out for dinner on Sunday, the first time in a very long time! Most people are quite sensible and the places that are open now are taking precautions to help keep everyone safe. The last thing anyone wants is a second wave, especially those who work in the pubs and restaurants  Life So Short, The Craft So Long To Learn

olderdaddy, Very wise advise! to your daughter. I will stop that one contact, with the elderly lady, with her son, in Kroatië, for now... better safe, then sorry. But, also... When it is 'your/mine" time, there is nothing stopping that?!

Joe, To a ninetheen? what about the dark ages? mY god! But, also, "our" gouvernement does not give one line, of action, the one day they say, it is a false safety, the next day, they tell everybody, you have to wear that mask?! Totall cleuless! That is why i keep the safety as high as possible for me and every one around me. The girlfriend is soo bussy working, she did not mentioned having dinner together. i leave it at that! Maybe next year?

jenny, Thank you. I dont like this, at all, but this is what we all, have to deal with. I always go away, traveling in Holland, a lot, in summer time, to all kind events, streettheater, markets..... Love it! They are all canceled ofcourse! I have to travel with train, to go there... I wont take that risk...
