Learning Português Since i am planning on moving to Portugal, i am following lessons on line. And i have to say i am rather good at it I still remember a lot o of words, since the last time i was in Portugal, about 7 years ago, and i still know how to make sentenses These lessons are really funny, everytime i dont make mistakes, i get a smiling, dancing, giving kisses figure, it is soo funny! Sometimes it is a man, then a girl or a woman! You feel instantly rewarded! I love it!! Also, when i have to repeat a sentence i never make a mistake Sometimes i talk to soft.. and have to repeat it.. BUT i dont make mistakes Why should i stay here, to ever - never (?) meet that to be dominant/ master? Life in this country that is not good for me, with the seasons, and the long long long dark autumn and winter and sometimes even a dark cold spring. That is soo bad for my overall mental and physical health.... So learning Português is fun, keeps me focussed on the goal ahaead. Working on this goal gives me strenght to survive those horrible winters, time and time again.... SAD makes me so very tired. I make plans, every day, i want to do this that and the other. When i have finished my breakfast, i am already soo tred. Have to dragg myself to do those tasks.... In winter time, iam not mé, as i know mé, in summertimes in Portugal... Depressions suck. NO matter what the cause is.... Stay positive.... |

I think having that goal of relocation to Portugal can really lighten the mood. I know how you feel after living in the Northeast US. When I was 22, I hightailed it to FL where the sun shines and my mood is so much better.

It's hard to find good Europe Portugal language courses - most are South American - it's a great place though and love going there and it's people.

I am using the app Duolingo.com to relearn/study Spanish- 3 to 5 minutes a day. It is easy, free, and fun. Keep that mind on its toes...

ready, Ooh, i follow Duolingo, i love it! Yes, they use some Brazillian Português, but that is alright. The people in Portugal wiil understand me, and want to know, how i learned Braziilan ? LOL Yes, the country is great ( i am not much interested in Big Citys) The people too, very helpfull, very social, very friendly.... There is still some real, real wild nature there, in Holland, we only have parks or production 'forests' No nature, at all.

Gowron Oh? You really think so? i find the Brazilian language not easier to understand, it is more like they are sining their sentences, cant make head or tail from it. You should, ofcourse never say it, to an Spanish or Português person, but spanish and Portugês sounds much more the same... Also, Portugal has had a lot of other conquerors So you can recognise German words, and France words in it I like that very much. It makes it easier for me to learn the language.
