The stray cat...

We are getting our second hit of cold weather...
Below zero...

"My?⁹" stray cat get his food in the shed, when it is bad weather.
Also, this day...
Most of the time, he stays, just inside of the shed...
So he can run, when he feels his life is in danger...

The other day, he lay down, just inside the door, to the hallway...
On the treshold...

Today, he lay down, inside the hallway, on the other side of the door, even!!
I was sooo proud of him!

Soooo....fingers crossed, he may get inside the house, when this bad weather gets worst...
And, maybe, just maybe, i am able to close the backdoor... when he decides to stay inside... for as long... as he can stands it...

Never had a cat, who was soo afraid... of being in one room, inside a hou8se, with a human....
Most stray cats did adapt very fast, to the company and food.. once taken inside my house...

Who knows what traumas he has from his previous life, with humans
... you have your ways, Rosa, you are patient and not pushy... I believe he will feel safe to stay with you inside very soon...

rosa

As Ex said, we don't know what happened to this cat before but he will get confidence with you...

Everyone can learn SO MUCH from the animal kingdom, can't they? Especially those that we consider 'domesticated'...I hate to see any of them suffer, as SO MANY do, this time of year. SO KIND of you Rosa, for having a warm heart and a warm place for that kitty!

Might try putting a blanket, bedding of some sort in the shed, for a few days, if have the time, then move it in to the house by where he will come lay

Given time the stray will come in. I have been there. The biggest challenge was my female. She finally came in on her own and even waited by the door for me to open it for her.

Cats can be a pain in the ass but are loyal.

ExName,
Yes, that is something, i am always wondering about, when he acts so fearful...

Ooh, that would make me soo happy, so i can give him a real warm and dry home.

I wonder, though, because he is soo afraid, i have to move very slowly, otherwise, he will run away...
For more then 7 years, i am feeding him...now.

likeithot,
Thanks for that idea, i already have a old blanket on the floor and an old chair,
but he wont go there......I once try to deworm him, with real meat, a litle pill in there?
He sniffed it a few times, and just walked away...
He, too is a survivor

ryder,
i have seen it happen, too, with other stray cats.
One, Just came in the house, sniffed the room, walked out again and the next time, i was working in the garden, with the backdoor open, he just walked in, found his place on the sofa and that was it.
Or, 2, an other cat, just walked up the stairs, found my bed, and that was it.
I loved that.
I really dont know, if i can get this one into my house, he gets hysterical when the door moves just a little bit.... fingers crossed!
