A not so good day

Well here I am. My left foot in a walking cast, 5 stitches on the side of my head a black eye and mostly upset about my shoes.

Yesterday I had a normal work day. In the morning I had a meeting with a and I was running late. As I was urrying along the strap on my new heels broke the shoe went way and I went the other. I crashed on to the sidewalk face first and was knocked out cold.

When I woke up and started to become aware of my surroundings I realized I was in the hospital in a head brace and my right wrist was handcuffed to the hospital bed. I’m panicking and a nurse is trying to calm me down. She said the police insisted on the handcuffs.

The police were ed because I was found semi conious and assumed I was intoxicated I was being held on suspicion on public intoxication at 9:30 am. I was also asked my name because while I was knocked out a young man stole my purse and briefcase So after telling them who I was and my husbands name the doctor comes in. Bingo, he is a of my bank and ask what happened. I told him I wasn’t sure and then he walks out grabs the cop and tells him to remove the cuffs.

So I have a sprained ankle dirty and blood splattered hair and plenty of bruises. I also have to change all my locks credit cards etc. however what reallly pisses me off my 200 shoes are ruined.

It sucks to be a girl.

It is a big City so the fact that they treated you as an intoxicated person is not a shock. The individual that stole your purse and case should be caught by the police but maybe not. This is a sick act to steal from a person that has been in an accident. I have also had experience with hospital workers stealing from my belongings during surgery. Either situation is despicable.

Hope you have a quick recovery and remember, shoes can be replaced.

Everything considered, you're pretty lucky. In my town they found a guy in my neighborhood late at night dazed and incoherent on the sidewalk with no ID. Instead of giving him CPR, the paramedics assumed he had passed out from alcohol use. They took their time getting him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Turns out he had apparently fallen or was mugged and had head trauma. If they'd treated him like an emergency, he'd have lived. When the media learned he was a respected journalist in a neighborhood full of journalists, they opened fire with both barrels. It became a huge scandal and the city emergency services were reorganized and retrained.

Hope they rush a hairdresser up to your floor stat. No girl should have to sit in bed with dirty, blood-spattered hair.

first off, you may have been injured. but you are alive and under good care. I hope for a full recovery.

Now as far as changing the locks and getting new credit cards and a new purse. well that is material stuff and it can all be replaced . Changing the locks, a good idea. Hopefully, noting that can't be replaced like photos are not lost. But All will be good. Temporary situation. You are a smart cookie and knew you had to change the locks and all of that. Your brain was not damaged beyond repair.

Best to you young lady.

Well I went to the ortho doctor and my badly sprained ankle is actually broken. This is going to be a sucky summer if I am stuck in a cast. Now I wait to find out if they can set it correctly without surgery.

Great another scar. Chicks do not dig scars.

Oh yes, the wiz bang CPD did catch the guy who stole my stuff. He was trying to use my credit card and the police were called.
