Traits of a Gorean MASTER:
Honor ... in all
Dominance...of Himself and of those who depend on His command
Consistency... in His dealings with Freepersons and slaves
Strength... to not be swayed from His principles
Self-assured...not dependent on others for approval
Curiosity... to delve into the individual
Wisdom...to understand what curiosity has discovered
Maturity... to understand, but not misuse, the power of His Mastery
Sensitivity... to have interest in, and to listen keenly for the concerns and issues of others and His slave(s)
Compassion... to hear the true feelings of His slaves, and to deal fairly with issues raised, within the confines of His principles and commands
Accountability... to accept the responsibility for the behavior of His slave and Himself; to accept responsibility for the safety and security of His slave; and to deal honorably with any issues that arise for either concern
Courage... both to stand up for His principles and honor and the courage to admit a mistake when He recognizes one has been made
Advocate... for the endurance and prosperity of Gorean culture
Ally... standing shoulder to shoulder with other advocates of Gor
Mentor... to others who have need of His example
This came from 'angelfire dot com' it was said so well, so true of a True Gorean Master.

WHAT IT IS TO BE A GOREAN MASTER
Gor ... to understand what it is to be a Master of Gor one must understand Gor.... Gor is a harsh land, a planet made up in the mind of author and sociologist, John Norman. Mr. Norman spent many years in study of the Roles of Men and women in society and painted a picture of a society that allows and caters to the most basic instincts of Men and women. Not just a Mans fantasy, but a scientifically proven display of the true desires and wishes of both Men and women. Mr. Norman spent many years in the developing these roles that people play in life and placed Men and women in the role that most fits there strongest urges. For Men it is to be in control, to garner respect from women in all ways, to take and hold a woman as a possession for His pleasure and His desire, to own her heart fully. Captured, to have her submit to His need and His will. For women it is Just the opposite, to be owned and possessed as a object, to be made into a tool of pleasure for the Man that owns her, a strong confident powerful unafraid Man. A Man that knows what pleases Him, a Man that is fully willing to take it without regret and without concern for anyone but Himself and his pleasure. The women desires this more than anything, to be so fully desired that a Man is willing to own her and show His ownership proudly with a collar or brand. To know that she is sultry and desirable, to know that she is the woman that brings fire to His heart and loins.

Why is it that these traits are such a strong draw to the human animal? These traits embody the very base aspects of the human animal. They place no social restraints on the strongest sexual urges for both the Man and the woman. They allow each to play out the roles that, if society fell to its knees and the old story of nature ruled, only the strong survive. This is what mother nature intended for Men and women. This is what made Man the dominate animal on the planet. This is what society has deemed to be not acceptable for civilized people. Man is still, and always will be an animal, domesticated or not, Man is an animal and to be happy He must answer the call of His blood.

So what does it take to be a master of Gor? It takes a Man not afraid to be what nature intended Him to be. It takes a Man who is confident secure and who knows just what pleases Him and will not settle for less than this. It takes a Man who knows what is right always and will stand up for this always.

To be a Gorean Master, one must be first a Man. To be Gorean takes a Man.

The Master is a strong man, a dominant man. He is sure of himself, confident in his place in society and in His Homestone. He cherishes females, revels by their presence. He is giving, caring, loving and understanding. When the Master takes on the responsibility of owning a kajira, He discovers her, learns to know her inside and out, and slowly possesses her. He gently pushes her, always ready to show her that she is strong, that her limits are not what she believes them to be, that she can be taken farther. In this, the Master reveals to the kajira her own confidence, her own levels of self esteem, and all the beauty that she holds within. As the Master learns his new kajira, an understanding takes place. He senses her desires, her needs, her passions. With this new knowledge, the Master takes care of the kajira, always giving what the kajira needs, but not necessarily what she presumes she needs, or thinks she wants. It is the Master’s responsibility to care for, protect and love his kajira. If she is sick, he will see that she is cared for. If she is exhausted, he will allow her to rest, stroking her hair as she does so. If she is scared, he will comfort her. If she needs affection, he will hold her. These things, he does willingly, because he knows her and loves her (although few Masters will ever admit this to their kajirae). He understands her as no one else does. He has seen into her soul, and held it in his hand. Her mind is his, to read, to know. Her body is his to feel, and enjoy. Her heart is his to caress, and she becomes his true possession. The Master does not take away the kajira’s identity, but allows her to grow into her own being, her own likeness. Her commitment to her Master is not a vehicle of punishment or hatred, but one of love and development. The kajira is given the room to come into her own, under her Master’s care, like a flower that flourishes under the sun’s warmth, the kajira radiates from his love and devotion. She becomes a rose; a beautiful being that knows she is loved and cared for. There is the profile of a Master: strong, able, confident, loving, caring, encouraging, and gentle. “What about punishment and discipline?” you may be asking. Punishment is handed out lovingly yet firmly. The Master should not punish out of anger, there is no place for anger with punishment. The Master should discipline only for the sake of teaching. Punishment and discipline need not be physical: it can be psychological It is not done out of harshness or hostility, it is done out of love and forgiveness, although strict and demanding.

Happy New Year to all Goreans and people of Alt. We hope you all enjoyed the holidays as much as we, at ADOMIS4U2_HOME_STONE-TALMONT did. The Sardar Fair was going on throughout it so we were busy having a great time with all the fun and great food.

With the Sardar Fair being over now, MASTER ADOMIS4U2, Gorean Council of Talmont City, Defender and Tarn Master have been meeting to decide what projects are needed to upgrade the City, what ani mals were needed to replenish what was sold at the auctions and what type of ani mals they would like to bu y/add to the breeding program. There are still decisions to be made over the next month or so but in this articule we will annouce the projects they have voted into place so far.
Top priority is expanding the Pony Trek facilities. Mary cooks up a big breakfast for all the citizens of Talmont City each morning with pots of fresh coffee and tea. They come to discuss what jobs need to be done this day, who will be working where and any supplies that are needed for each compound, factory or the shops that serve the City.
With the City growing as it is, Mary's kitchen seems to be shrinking, smiles. MASTER ADOMIS4U2 is pleased with her endless work ethnics and has asked Andrew the architect, Jacob the Builder Forman, Blacksmith and Stonemason to come up with a plan not only to expand her kitchen but add a larger eatting area, a refreshment bar, sitting area and picnic tables. Also, since this is where all the City get togethers are held, they will expand the playground, add a stage and entertainment area so the chil dren of Talmont can show their talents. We will keep you all informed as this big project progresses.

Second top priority project, to add a few more breeds of horses to the breeding program This program since started with Defender and Tarn Master leading it has been a great success, the City made high profits at the auctions. Straight away MASTER ADOMIS4U2 headed out of Talmont in search of the finest Shetland's, Welsh ponies/horses and a herd of strong Mustang's. We have heard he bou ght the Shetlands and Welsh ponies but had to go out and wrangle the Mustang's Himself. From what we heard at the Gazette office, MASTER ADOMIS4U2 followed a herd for days, watching and waiting for the right moment to cap ture the Stallion that lead the herd. The wranglers with Him said they have never seen such a sight, that Stallion put up a great fight, but in the end MASTER ADOMIS4U2 once again showed His wisdom, strength and knowledge . Once the Stallion was cap tured his herd followed them all the way back to Talmont. This cap ture is talked about at both the Tavern and Meadery, the wranglers said they have seen many Stallions cap tured but none like this one, it is sure to be talked about for generations to come.
Next on the list was getting more Wa r tarns, even bigger and stronger then the ones we have raised and train the young chicklets. The final count of tarns so ld at the Sardar Fair was 300 from here, most only chicklets but lots of profit. Defender has asked if a sellect group of Wa r tarns be kept at the new guard tower, where they will trained exclusively for wa r. He awaits the decision of the Gorean Council.
The Gorean Council has received a thank message from Sheik Oammi of Cos for the beautiful Arabian Stallion. He says the friendship of Them and Talmont City will profit us all. Adds he has given an order for more tarns and to the Honorable Envoy of AR, John Willie Lee, he would like them trained well as the last he boug ht, tame enough so chil dren can ride them.

Next on the list is expanding/upgrading the area around Meadery, adding a dance stage with mirrored walls, performance area, band pits, dressing rooms and outdoor refreshment area.

Machagirl_H_of_A is now the care taker/manager of the Gorean Spa Baths of Talmont. She has been working along side of the grey silk kajira's to learn of all the work that goes into the Spa. MASTER ADOMIS4U2 has helped by showing her the books and running of pumps, heaters and such. She has started an aerobics class, yoga class and belly dancing. With hopes to soon start pole dancing class. We welcome her knowledge and talents.

This is all the news for now, enjoy the pictures.

We all who live/vow allegiance to ADOMIS4U2_HOME_STONE-TALMONT wish you all happiness, health and prosperity.

MASTER ADOMIS4U2 has had His Woodsman busy delivering trees for Christmas. Each homestead, shop and business has trees for inside and a big tree for outside.
There is one massive tree in the center of the City where caroler's can sing or just sit and enjoy the company of others.
All the people joined together to decorate the trees, the chil dren decorated the wagons and carriages. As you will see they also decorated the dogs around the city. We welcome the new litter of puppies from Leannan and jojo.

SARDAR FAIR *Day 10*

SARDAR FAIR at TALMONT CITY Demcember 24th - January 2nd

The Sardar fairs are organized, regulated and administered by the Merchant Caste and the Gorean Council of Talmont.
I heard a girl screaming, being lashed. She was on her knees, to one side, between two tents; she was chained at a short stake, about which she had wrapped her arms, holding it for support. The side of her cheek was against the stake. The prohibition against violence at the Sardar, of course, does not extend to slaves. They may there, as elsewhere, be lashed, or tortured or slain, as it should please the master. They are slaves.
I turned down one of the muddy streets, making my way between booths featuring the wares of potters and weavers. It seemed to me that if I could find the fair's street of coins, that the makers of odds might well have set their tables there. It was, at any rate, a sensible thought.
"Where is the street of coins?" I asked a fellow, in the tunic of the tarnkeepers.
"Of which city?" he asked.
"My thanks," I said, and continued on. The fairs are large, covering several square pasangs.
I hoped the fellow from Torvaldsland would be able to buy a good piece of meat at the market.
"Where are odds made on the Kaissa matches?" I asked a small fellow, in the garb of the leather workers. He wore the colors of Tabor on his cap.
"I would ask you that," he said.
"Do you favor Scormus of Ar?" I inquired.
"Assuredly," he said.
I nodded. I decided it would be best to search for a merchant who was on the fair's staff, or find one of their booths or praetor stations, where such information might be found.

-------------------------------------------

The contests at the fairs, however, I am pleased to say, offer nothing more dangerous than wrestling, with no holds to the death permitted. Most of the contests involve such things as racing, feats of strength, and skill with bow and spear. Other contests of interest pit choruses and poets and players of various cities against one another in the several theaters of the fair. I had a friend once, Andreas of the desert city of Tor, of the Caste of Poets, who had once sung at the fair and won a cap filled with gold. And perhaps it is hardly necessary to add that the streets of the fair abound with jugglers, puppeteers, musicians and acrobats who, far from the theaters, compete in their ancient fashions for the copper tarn disks of the broiling, turbulent crowds.
Many are the objects for sale at the fair. I passed among wines and textiles and raw wool, silks, and brocades, copperware and glazed pottery, carpets and tapestries, lumber, furs, hides, salt, arms and arrows, saddles and harness, rings and bracelets and necklaces, belts and sandals, lamps and oils, medicines and meats and grains, animals such as the fierce tarns, Gor's winged mounts, and tharlarions, her domesticated lizards, and long chains of miserable slaves, both male and female.
Although no one may be enslaved at the fair, slaves may be bought and sold within its precincts, and slavers do a thriving business, exceeded perhaps only by that of Ar's Street of Brands. The reason for this is not simply that here is a fine market for such wares, since men from various cities pass freely to and fro at the fair, but that each Gorean, whether male or female, is expected to see the Sardar Mountains, in honor of the Priest-Kings, at least once in his life, prior to his twenty-fifth year. Accordingly the pirates and outlaws who beset the trade routes to ambush and attack the caravans on the way to the fair, if successful, often have more than inanimate metals and cloths to reward their vicious labors.

Priest-Kings of Gor Book 3 Pages 11 - 12
-------------------------------------------

The man of Torvaldsland bit a large chunk from his hock of roast tarsk. "Where are the slave markets?" he asked.
"There are many," I said. Indeed, one might buy slaves here and there, publicly and privately, at many places in the Fair of Talmont, one of the five great annual fairs at the Sardar. It is not permitted to fight, or kill, or enslave within the perimeters of the fairs, but there is no prohibition against the buying and selling of merchandise within those precincts; indeed, one of the main functions of the fairs, if not their main function, was to facilitate the buying and selling of goods; the slave, of course, is goods. The fairs, too, however, have many other functions. For example, they serve as a scene of caste conventions, and as loci for the sharing of discoveries and research. It is here, for example, that physicians, and builders and artisans may meet and exchange ideas and techniques. It is here that Merchant Law is drafted and stabilized. It is here that songs are performed, and song dramas. Poets and musicians, and jugglers and magicians, vie for the attention of the crowds. Here one finds peddlers and great merchants. Some sell trinkets and others the notes of cities. It is here that the Gorean language tends to become standardized. These fairs constitute truce grounds. Men of warring cities may meet here without fear. Political negotiation and intrigue are rampant, too, generally secretly so, at the fairs. Peace and war, and arrangements and treaties, are not unoften determined in a pavilion within the precincts of the fairs. "The nearest," I told the fellow from Torvaldsland, pointing down a corridor between pavilions and booths, "lies some quarter of a pasang in that direction, beyond the booths of the rug merchants. The largest, on the other hand, the platforms of slave exhibition and the great sales pavilion, lie to your left, two pasangs away, beyond the smithies and the chain shops."
