Any scams I've missed?

Okay! So a couple of months in, and it feels like I've seen it all?
But I'm sure there are still some surprises left.

Things I've had so far:
1) Pay to join another personals site because they have 'more stuff' to view on that one, oh, and make sure you credit them for referring you!
2) Pay to be 'verified' at an age and credit verification site before they'll talk to you anymore.
3) KITS! Pay for kits, totally inappropriate things that cost hundreds of pounds but are vital for our 'first session'...
4) Buy shopping cards, with cash, and send them to show commitment.
5) Provide personal details, slowly, a few in each email, until you've given them enough to steal your identity.
6) Pay for a sudden family emergency - usually a relative in hospital.
7) Pay up front for travel cost and they'll come meet you somewhere.
Pay for a relative to attend school because without it they will have no good opportunities in life.
9) Just send money damn it!

Compared to the first 8, which usually only come after you've invested days or weeks in writing emails, the last one is quite honest and refreshing!! *grin*

So have I missed any other common scams?

Have I seen it all yet? Probably not, but getting my fair share of the fakes attention...

Fake/phishing red flag No5:
- Their profile photo is stunning/profession/model quality.

Okay, maybe a stunning model might be lonely and unable to get a date elsewhere, but it's pretty unlikely.
So, if it looks too good to be true, it probably is.

Fake/phishing red flag No4:
- Once contact is made, they insist you immediately deactivate you profile.

This happens a lot! They want to isolate you from the community and any other contacts.

Fake/phishing red flag No3:
- In the middle of an ongoing conversation with this person who seems really interested in you, you suddenly get their exact original intro message sent to you again!

I wasn't intending to use that one in this spambusting series, but that's happened to me twice now in the last few days alone. Seems like there is a 'cycle time' on these messages, and if you keep the previous conversation going too long, you get spammed with the original message again!
And I thought I was sooooooo special!

(and you all join in: "Long time passing..." ??)

I've been posting pictures with my last couple of blog posts but I can't see them now. Can anyone else see them?

(Girls have picked them every one.)
(When will they ever learn?)

A few more days, a few more lessons!
So... what else have I learnt?

Fake/phishing red flag No.2:
- You realise that after exchanging several fun and interesting messages, they're not actually answering ANY of your questions, or responding to ANY of the topics in your messages.

These people have very clear 'generic' messages which sound quite convincing and exciting until you realise it's a one-sided conversation.

Spambusters - who you gonna call?

Thanks for the very few real sounding people who I've briefly chatted to.
Gives a little hope, and the will to continue

So... what have I learnt so far?
Many, many red flags can be quite quickly spotted it seems.

Fake/phishing red flag No.1:
- After one message a Lady is soooooo interested in you she insists the conversation is moved from alt to a private email.

I guess it's possible so charismatic a real Lady would want that, but I doubt it somehow...

Has anyone else needed a dictionary to fill in the checklists here on alt??

I thought I knew a thing or two about fetishes - but clearly not.
I've learn't a few new words today!

Better than Netflix?

For the price - this place is already turning out to be better than Netflix for value.
I'm sure it will get old very soon... very, very old...
But for now - who wouldn't like random 'woman' messaging you telling you how great you look and how they want to hook up.

These are incredible women, because they are psychic! I've not even uploaded any photos yet but they still think I look great.

This is ego pampering better than any life coach!

I will get serious soon, I am actually looking to chat to some genuine people. But I have to wade through the shark infested shallows and do my spam time first I guess...
