As I continue some work preparing for an anniversary event, I was going to post a trifle like "preparing to be prepared for a ready preparedness". But then it occurred to me, I once worked for the Federal Preparedness Agency - and what a trip that was!

And that's enough for now.

I haven't actually done any software work in many years, yet here I am again, talking about it. Back in the day - and even now - languages supplied you with these functions (mostly trig -- sin, cos, tan, arcsin - and the logs) that you never used. I would occasionally write some interesting user interface that allowed me to use them, just to use them. Their effects were often bizarre, and usually unpredictable, and way way back in the day, if you weren't careful, you could literally crash the machine (hee hee). So it was a bit of a tightrope walk, and made the mundane a bit thrilling. But generally, they came with your FORTRAN or your MACRO or your C v1.1 compiler or your COMPASS and you turned the page from SIN to SYN (for syncronizing with a parallel process) and started the process of learning about an instruction that wasn't properly documented in order to get it to work. And this was before outsourcing, when the manuals were written by actual Americans. Anyway ...

So does one need to engage these functions to understand the Views statistics that appear littered across ALT? Shall I explain further? I shall explain further. If you look at the top of my blog - which you are reading now - you will see that the "home" and first sticky has been read over 7200 times (7234 as I am writing this). Further, yesterday's "NOOP #1" post was viewed (ah ha! view vs. read - perhaps no one reads! -- that's another post --- was viewed) 84 times. That's a lot in one day. Yet, when you look over into the right frame and see Recent Visitors, you don't see anything near 84 with today's or yesterday's date. In fact, you get the most recent ten, and they range back to the 6th of this month. Where did those roughly 80 views go to? How were they counted? Where did they come from? Is it more like you engage the random number generator - always a real number between zero and .9999 - plug it into the sin inverse function, gain a number between 0-90, and place that as today's view value? Or perhaps take the actual number of views, and again using RAN, multiply it by a random number between 1 and 15? Something? The values don't seem to track reality. Are 80 or so people coming in from the red dot on Jupiter (now that's wireless) and reading my blog, but because they have no username, can't be added to the visitor's list? Is it really due to Jupiter? This is my quandary.

So ... any views on Views?

So, I'm considering another titleing opcode, this one called "NOOP", which is a simple yet critical instruction in early computer machine languages. It means "no operation", or, do nothing.

I don't have much to say today, yet I've posted every day of the year so far, and that seems a significant streak to kill off simply because you don't feel anything. A small accomplishment, but such is life. I wonder, I could write at length about my previous post and generally what a chick like that (you can't really see it, but she has an amazing figure, great hips, great ass, great waist ... on up ... pretty face - what a chick like that) is doing in porn rather than on some soap opera or something. But that was lengthy, and perhaps enough. I know I haven't been visited by that fine subbie α recently. That's my fault, I haven't really called her. Still thinking about a lost orange friend, but not much appeal in that. Yesterday's post was used elsewhere to illustrate a point requested by another member, it wasn't really a sex post - though perhaps some enjoyed it as that. I sense a visit from Sweet Melissa soon, but not sure what or where -- although, again, having her appear riding a Submarine Launched Nuclear Tipped Intercontinental Ballistic Missle was uniquely genius, and nobody commented on it; which only leads one to just further ignore one's visitors. I mean, really, nothing about that at all? Really?

So, still a bit down; while being aware that I haven't really been "up" for quite a few months, so I am monitoring that. Perhaps I'll allow subbie α to visit, but she brings her own perils. Perhaps. Or perhaps not. A NOOP.

And there you are.

Well, can't say I'm feeling too sexual at the moment, but I'll try to give it a go. So it was kinda bad the last week, especially the weekend. The house felt really empty. I couldn't sleep, didn't feel like piano, didn't feel like blah, blah, blah. I flipped the channels endlessly. I came upon Lifetime. Yeah, it was bad. Didn't I say it was bad? So there was this movie on based on a Nora Roberts book, who I guess writes cheapo romance novels yet probably has a net worth 1,000 times my own. Justice ... and a little orange cat. My fourth book. So the movie is called "Montana Sky" and it's conceit involves a despicable father's will which brings three step sisters together. The one lives on the ranch now and has her whole life. Other two are interlopers, including a busty blonde Hollywood producer sister. Real mouthy, insensitive (but wonderfully braless) bitch. Yunno, the kind of woman that lines up for a casting call at a reality show. Other sister is running from an abusive ex-husband. This is 2007 Lifetime, you must have an abusive husband somewhere in the script. So the father intends they all inherit the ranch together, but they must live together for a year, or it is given over to Dick Cheney and an oil company. Or something. It's given to someone really bad! So the sisters have a goal. Yeah, yeah, they hate each other. The rancher is always in jeans and a man's western shirt. She is ridiculed by the blonde Hollywood slut as being "a flat chested little girl". But, yunno, it helps that she is played by this actress Ashley Williams who though she is kinda box bodied also has an incredible face. So time passes, the sisters love each other (not in that way - that's another Lifetime movie), and little ranch girl is finally asked out on a date by a guy she has known and hated her whole life. The other two sisters play dress up. It is the morning of the date. Little ranch girl is in a white robe. The sisters put her in front of a mirror, take off her robe (it's basic cable so no nudity, but you know) she is nude underneath, and they put on this shear silk brown print dress. Suddenly little ranch girl with the killer face and alabaster skin and fine brunette hair and blue eyes is dazzling. Dazzling and naked under that dress. She meets her date as he comes calling, offers him a drink, and he says she looks great and asks "are you wearing anything under that dress?" And of course she isn't ... and soon it is over her head and off. And they have a go ... But the brief transition when she is wagging around in front of him, naked under that dress, something new to her but loving every minute of it ... was ... was high high sexuality of the female form. Pretty face, fit bod (regardless of proportions), no underwear. That's my contribution.

Victoria has two secrets. One of them is that Victoria's Secret isn't needed. The other is fairly obvious.
