As we enter this high evening of masks and charades, I wonder this: can people change? I'm thinking of submissives - as that is my interest here on ALT. But similar scenes and costumes are worn by the composite.
A woman that has been so broken into slavery that she takes no note of her beatings and abuse, can she grow into a dignified submissve? Can a playtoy reduced to being a convenient and recurring real life live and responsive set of holes for any and all friends of her master, opening and accomodating with such automation that she does not even notice it, can she be restored to what the word intimacy involves? Some cultures brand or otherwise mark a woman who has been had by a man believing that he has in fact left his mark on her soul already. And regardless of mask made or what the will will wear, the cover does not erase.
So is the proverb true? "What is crooked (broken) can not be made straight?" Of course, The Great Spirit can do anything He wishes. But experience teaches He prefers the existing trail of dominoes much more than he does wishing. So be it. At a party I was at recently, many did wear the costume. But were any at all inclined to be the little french maid? Taking away the costumes, stripping down, were there any french maids simply maiding from their being's core?
Costume's fade, and most prefer blue jeans, and stop wearing the costume. Let the Zen be revealed. Happy Halloween.

Compromise
Accepting An Outcome You Did Not Want
The choices were:1) having her killed now
2) giving her away and having her killed in a month
3) setting her free - death foreseeable - with a chance
She was feral, hiding out for days at a time. She didn't enjoy human company, nor the company of her kind. Then there was the key critical problem: unfixable and unliveable. I'm not gonna be that person.
She was beautiful. All I had was the thought of her. She was never present. She was never one on your lap. A once weekly glance from far across the room. But she was beautiful. I will miss her. What a final set of memories.
A bad outcome, but the least horrible of those available.
The bad follows the good, and round and round it goes.
