To Scottie Scheffler a humble family man from Texas. Seems like every relative was there as he walked to sign his card. Four tournament wins, including The Master's in fifty-four days! Now that's a run that has parallels to Tiger's in his early days. What pac found so endearing with him happened on the 18th hole yesterday. With a short putt for par. It seemed like all the nerves finally found Scottie. He misses the putt and rolls it a few feet past the hole. The crowd goes" ohhhh". He lines up the putt and misses again. Same scenario a few feet past the hole. Ohhh my... The crowd is stunned and mubling... After he misses the third putt again! He finally makes the fourth putt! And that's really why you want a five-shot lead at the 18th hole... Congrates to Scottie for a brilliant Master's win!
Hours earlier Tiger had also got a standing ovation at the 18th hole. It didn't matter that he shot another 78. What mattered was how he persevered over the last four days!
Cam Smith started out on fire yesterday. Two birdies in his first two holes. Getting within one shot of Scottie. Then back t o back boogies brought him back t o earth. Until the make or break 12th hole. His tee shot looked great in the air, until it landed, and rolled in the water. A triple bogey later, his chances of catching Scottie were all but gone. It took him a few holes t o regroup after that. But he finished with back to back birdies on 15 and 16 and par's on 17 and 18. A tie for third is nothing t o be ashamed about...
Of course as all this was going on Rory McIlroy was putting on a show for the patrons and history book. The roars of the crowds could constantly be heard while Scottie and Cam were playing. A boogie free round consisting of six birdies, a eagle, and the classic hole out from the bunker on 18 will be remembered for a long time. Rory did not even make the cut last year! And pac has seen him struggle mightily at many majors. Just goes t o show you. You never know when it's going t o be your day on the golf course!
Loved this years Master's. And while the last couple days of bets weren't that lucrative. The first couple days made up for it...

As The Master's bit back on Saturday. A five-shot lead is now down t o three. There was not one player who did not struggle at some point during yesterday's round. The patrons bundled up with beanie's, jackets and blankets was not a normal sight! Even with Scottie Scheffler's adventures on the back nine. He held it together enough with scrappy play and help from his competitors. Winning three tournaments this year doesn't change the facts for Scottie. Nerves are certainly starting t o creep in. His very experienced caddie could prove instrumental today. Because the hardest part for Scottie will be his waiting all morning until his afternoon tee time!
The cold weather and physicality of the golf course particularly reared it's ugly head for Tiger yesterday. Like the competitor he is giving up was never a option. As pac watched him she just wanted his round over. So he could get his treatment. Even with all of that... As Tiger limped towards speaking with the media he was asked. "What are you showing America this week." His simple answer was "Never give up!" Tiger plays with J. Rahm today. And pac suspects he will play hard as Rahm was telling stories t o the media earlier in the week!
The surging Ausie Cam Smith is going t o give Scottie everything he can handle in the final pairing and round today. For those who saw him win The Players last month. His fearlessness and clutch putting was a sight t o see. He has that rocker, wild man look about him. Yet damn... can he play some golf! pac suspects many Australians are going t o record his round!
There are a few stragglers who could come close and threaten the leaders. Especially with the near perfect weather expected today. But the stats and numbers show the majority of Master's winners are in the top five places starting Sundays round. Time will tell if history repeats itself...

While there is still a chance for anyone. Scottie Scheffler, newly named number one, has built a significant 5 shot lead for himself. The hottest golfer on the planet right now just needs t o maintain his lead by playing par golf. Does pac think he will do that? Hell no... she thinks he's going for it and will continue t o play aggressively...
The astonishing storyline of Tiger continues. After 4 bogeys in his first 5 holes yesterday, it wasn't looking good for him t o play well or make the cut. Then he took his sweater off and got serious. pac and many golfers wear vests in chilly weather because it doesn't restrict your movements. It seemed like the horrid start just freed Tiger up. As he methodically maneuvered himself around the course. Wherever Tiger finishes up today is anyone's guess. His level of play for not playing competitive golf for over a year, and almost losing is leg has been truly marvelous t o see!
Another player who turned a dismal Thursday play around was J. Thomas. He started the day at plus 4. And shot a beautiful round of 67 to finish at 1 under. The question will be if he can continue that level of play today with expected highs around 60 with continued breezes..
Honorable mention t o J. Niemann who played the last 2 days with Tiger. He handled himself as a true professional while playing. The massive gallery surrounding Tiger both days has unnerved many of Tigers competitors in the past. Niemann had sat at 3 under all day. Until the 18th hole. Where he dropped 2 shots t o finish at 1 under. Now that will be a story t o tell his and grandkids!
I guess hitting a hole-in-one is a consolation for not making the cut. Especially when your is on the bag. Congrates to S. Cink !
Do the chores and kink stuff early! As moving day for The Master's is here!
~ FYI... 15 out of 16 bets so far is pacs wins. Many have just doubled her money. But ohhh yeah, loving betting this golf right now!!
