In response this week's challenge by MineSirsSub, this incredible photo.

There is difficulty and beauty in capturing all the essentials of life. Essentials, essences, desires that make us feel whole. Many of these things can only be caught on the run. It is this "on the run" that can make them elusive, so when family are available, friends drop by, love becomes possible, or the need to quench is within grasp, seize the moment.

In response aliljaded's challenge this week, I thought I'd add my effort.

The attached photo is one I took while travelling in the USA in August of 2019. Not as pretty as the photo on the original challenge post, but one I'm proud of all the same. It was taken at the JFK memorial theatre, outside on the porch, of a distant electrical storm at night. While it is not the best of photography, it was taken with a phone, I had always wanted to successfully take a photo of lightning. Succeeding with a ground strike at night was a real bonus. I really like the layering of the clouds being shown by the strike.
